KC Rep Stages World Premiere of STICKY TRAPS, Now thru 5/24

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary season with Sticky Traps, a powerful new play by KC Rep's Playwright in Residence, Nathan Louis Jackson, Directed by Resident Director, Kyle Hatley. Sticky Traps focuses on a small town not far from Kansas City, where a mother protects her gay son's honor when his funeral is protested by a local church. Her actions have unintended consequences that will test her whole family - and the power of their love -- in the face of hate. The production begins tonight, April 24th and runs through Sunday, May 24th at Copaken Stage in downtown Kansas City.

'Repetition, Rhythm, and Pattern' Opens at SPACE in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces the opening of Repetition, Rhythm, and Pattern, on view May 15 to June 28, 2015, at SPACE in the Cultural District. Lindsey Landfried organizes the exhibition exploring artists' uses of repetition, rhythm, and pattern as elements to investigate the possibilities of abstractions.

New York Historical Society Releases Schedule of Events and Exhibitions for May 2015

1. EXHIBITIONS Picasso's Le Tricorne May 29 – Ongoing The show will position Picasso's curtain in a dialogue with other New-York Historical Society objects, including paintings from the European tradition that provide background to the artist's work as well as to the traditions against which the revolutionary artist rebelled. Other thematic threads pivot around dance subjects and explore roughly contemporary American paintings, sculpture, posters, and watercolors. Among the works included will be examples by William Adolphe Bouguereau, Will H. Bradley, Philippe de Champaigne, Jean-Léon Gérôme, Childe Hassam, Malvina Hoffman, Ricardo de Madrazo y Garreta, Elie Nadelman, Edward Penfield, Maurice Prendergast, John Sloan, and Adriaen van Utrecht.

?Dallas Theater Center announced today complete details for the rolling world premiere of Colossal, a new play by Andrew Hinderaker. DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty directs the Kennedy Center Jean Kennedy Smith Playwriting Award-winning play, which is choreographed by founder and artistic director of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance Joshua L. Peugh. Colossal begins with previews tonight, April 2 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, May 3.

An American modern dance company of astonishing talent that combines gymnastics, weight sharing, pop dance and performance art, PILOBOLUS will perform at Marin Center FRIDAY, MARCH 20th, 8pm at the Marin Veteran's Memorial Auditorium (10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael.)

Dallas Theater Center announced today Megan Hilty and Seth Rudetsky will headline Centerstage 2015 on Saturday, May 9. Chaired by Yvette Ostolaza, with Underwriting Chair Kersten Rettig and Honorary Chair Jeanne Marie Clossey, Centerstage 2015 will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, which will be transformed for the evening.

OPERA America Awards Audience Development Grants to 11 Companies
