BWW Review: MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at The John W. Engeman Theatre

Now in the middle of their spectacular fourteenth season, the John W. Engeman Theatre continues to dazzle with an excellent rendition of Million Dollar Quartet. It is a dramatization of a real jam session between Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. The Engeman's terrific incarnation of the jukebox musical by Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott runs through March 1st at the exquisite Northport venue.

Carnegie Theatre Has Announced Their 2020-21 Season

The 2020-21 Carnegie Theatre Season will be filled with laughter, nostalgia and a few surprises. Audiences will be introduced to a fast talking plant, relive a jam session at the historic Sun Records, celebrate traditions in changing times and experience the debut of a new script by a local arts leader.

BWW Review: The Phoenix Theatre Company Presents MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET ~ Electrifying!

The Phoenix Theatre Company's production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, directed by Scott Weinstein, is a high-fidelity juke box tribute to the four icons who history records assembled for an impromptu jam session on December 4th, 1956. Dynamic vocal and instrumental performances by Kavan Hashemian (Elvis Presley), Chris Lash (Jerry Lee Lewis), Skye Scott (Carl Perkins), and Gregg Hammer (Johnny Cash) of that session's songs provoke an irrepressible audience outburst of finger-snapping, toe-tapping elation. Runs through February 16, 2020.

Arkansas Rep Extends MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

BWW Review: MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at Derby Dinner Playhouse

On December 4, 1956, four recording legends dropped by Sam Phillips' famously small Sun Records Studios for various reasons, completely unplanned and coincidental. Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash had both been under contract for some time to Phillips, though Cash's contract would be up soon and he wouldn't be renewing. Jerry Lee Lewis had just signed, and Elvis Presley had long since been sold to RCA. Never one to let an opportunity pass him by, Phillips got the four stars to record an impromptu jam session, and a musical legend was born.

Photo Flash: Cortland Repertory Theatre Presents MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 48th annual summer season of professional live theatre with a BANG with the rockin' and rollin' musical Million Dollar Quartet, written by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux. Performances will run from August 28 – September 13 with evening show times at 7:30. Matinees are available on August 30, September 1, 4, 5, 8 and 11 at 2:00 PM.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website using ETIX at www.cortlandrep.org. CRT cautions that this is the only approved online ticket service; other online sites charge significantly higher rates for tickets and are NOT approved by CRT.

Rep Stage To Jam With MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

Million Dollar Quartet, a Tony Award-winning smash hit Broadway musical, is the next production in The Rep's 2019 Season. Tickets for the production, which runs Sept. 4-Oct. 6, are available at TheRep.org.

PCPA Announces 55th Summer Season

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is the knock-'m-dead, uproarious hit that will play in the Solvang Festival Theater from June 13 through June 30.
