Seattle Theatre Group has announced the lineup and music director for the 22nd Annual More Music @ The Moore, the program that provides exceptional young local musicians ages 14-21, regardless of what style they play, the opportunity to make music together.

Chessa Rich releases “Julia” from the forthcoming album Deeper Sleeper. Featuring Alex Bingham of Hiss Golden Messenger on bass and synths and Joseph Terrell of Mipso on background vocals, “Julia” is a treatise on the creative process, paying homage to the titular Julia Cameron and her 1992 book The Artist’s Way.

Brooklyn’s Bird Streets releases their latest single “Let You Down” featuring members from Wilco, Sting and A Great Big World. Bird Streets, named NPR Music’s “Artist to Watch,” recorded in Brooklyn with producers Zach Jones (Sting) and Oscar Albis Rodriguez (A Great Big World) and mixed it in Nashville with Pat Sansone (Wilco).

Produced by Parker Cason and mixed by Vance Powell (Chris Stapleton, Jack White, Phish) and Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, Shania Twain), People Talk finds Morrow exploring her beyond-country influences like 90s Alternative, Britpop, and 80s New Wave bands with moody, brutally honest lyrical content and rock n roll attitudes.

Lee shares the powerful final single of the project, 'Los Angeles' out everywhere now. The most delicate and heart-wrenching song on the forthcoming LP, “Los Angeles” is the comfort to which every hopeless creative can empathetically cry along. With a pulsating soundscape like an unstable heartbeat, the track lifts and falls as a trepid exhale.

The Flynn has announced that the Grammy-winning rock group The Wallflowers are coming to Burlington to play the Flynn Main Stage on Thursday, May 4 at 7:30 pm.

Wielding her voice like a honey-coated blade, Kara Jackson crafts a blend of emotional folk music and poetic alt-country. With the radical honesty of Nina Simone, the intricate lyricism of Fiona Apple and Joanna Newsom, and the straightforward, no-frills delivery of artists like Kimya Dawson, Kara’s writing blurs the line between poetry and song.

New England-based songwriter and guitarist, Savoir Faire, has returned with a jazz-inspired and powerful single, “How’s It Supposed To Feel.” Savior Faire wrote and performed the song from the viewpoint of an essential employee working during a national health crisis. “How’s It Supposed To Feel” is available now on all digital platforms.

Louie Short and Shamir worked with Said as producers on the project and played on a number of tracks, in addition to a cadre of musicians like Christian Lee Hutson, Eliza Niemi, Dorothea Paas, Grant Pavol, Victoria Bury, Annie Truscott, Nick Short, and Drew & Jeremy Harmon filtering in and out of each song.

A slow-burning song about longing for a deeper connection with someone, knowing you can’t find it, and the continuous search for fulfillment, it comes off their debut album mole, out via Next Door Records (The Weather Station, Ada Lea, Charlotte Cornfield, Patrick Holland, Hua Li 化力, etc.). The video was directed by Laura Lynn Petrick.

In the midst of the Global Pandemic, she originally recorded this six-song set live in a Los Angeles backyard accompanied by bandmates and collaborators Aaron Liao (bass, backing vocals), Jay Tibbits (drums, synth bass). The tracklisting notably consists of favorites from her breakthrough Kathleen I EP and the follow-up Kathleen II EP.

Ben Zaidi shares the deluxe version of his debut studio album, Acre of Salt. The album was recorded with producer Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers, Peter Gabriel, Beck) at the iconic Sound City Studios in LA along with backing band members Ethan Gruska, Sebastian Steinberg (Fiona Apple,) saxophonist Sam Gendel and Kane Ritchotte (Portugal. The Man.)

Phoebe Bridgers has released a cover of The Handsome Family’s “So Much Wine” - an addition to her Christmas song catalog. Proceeds from the track will be going to the Los Angeles LGBT Center. The track, produced by Bridgers along with longtime collaborators Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska. Plus, check out upcoming tour dates with Taylor Swift!

poolblood (she/they), the musical nom-de-plume of Toronto’s Maryam Said, shared their newest single, “my little room.” It’s the latest peek into their debut album mole, via Next Door Records (The Weather Station, Ada Lea, Charlotte Cornfield, Patrick Holland, Hua Li 化力, etc.). It begins sparsely with acoustic guitar strums that back Maryam’s voice.

Spotify and Electric Lady Studios will release a new EP from their slate of Live at Electric Lady recordings. Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas) is the latest featured act in the series, releasing a four-track EP with re-imagined versions of hits including, “Whole Life,” “Photograph,” “On the Floor,” and a cover of Radiohead’s “4 Minute Warning.” 

Andrew Bird and Phoebe Bridgers join forces to share a haunting reimagination of the Emily Dickinson poem, ‘I felt a Funeral, in my Brain.’ Multiple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Bird also announces the new date for his rescheduled London show at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

Joined by regular musical collaborators keyboardist and producer Steve Brown and drummer and percussionist Mikey Wilson, Bailey Rae also welcomed guests to the stage including The Black Monks, the experimental musical collective who bring life to the everyday objects and artworks collected by Gates at the Stony Island Arts Bank in Chicago.

The award-winning songwriting team of Will Reynolds and Eric Price  will release a complete 28-track studio cast recording of their new musical, The Violet Hour on Friday, November 4, 2022.

Brion has scored movies Lady Bird, Punch Drunk Love and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, to collaborations with musicians like Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple, Kanye West, Mac Miller and many more. The forthcoming 11-track collection — which includes co-writes with Aimee Mann, Grant Lee Philips and Jeff McGregor and a cover of Cheap Trick’s “Voices.”

To accompany the announcement, poolblood also shared the wistful, country pop single “shabby” alongside a self-shot video starring their close friends and creative collaborators Shamir and Drew Harmon — who played guitar and drums on the track — as they playfully explore the Pacific Northwest.
