poolblood (she/they), the musical nom-de-plume of Toronto’s Maryam Said, shared their newest single, “my little room.” It’s the latest peek into their debut album mole, via Next Door Records (The Weather Station, Ada Lea, Charlotte Cornfield, Patrick Holland, Hua Li 化力, etc.). It begins sparsely with acoustic guitar strums that back Maryam’s voice.
Spotify and Electric Lady Studios will release a new EP from their slate of Live at Electric Lady recordings. With their new album, Vol. II, the Watkins returned to the recording studio with a host of long-time friends and Watkins Family Hour band mates like Jon Brion, Jackson Browne, Madison Cunningham, Lucius, Gaby Moreno, Benmont Tench, and Willie Watson. The group has shared “(Remember Me) I’m the One Who Loves You” from Vol. II.
They announced their signing to Next Door Records, and also shared the new, nostalgic single + video “twinkie.” Produced by Shamir, who also plays guitar and drums on the track, the song is reflective of what poolblood does best – lush and expansive bedroom pop matched with a sensuous and playful visual.
The deluxe will include the album’s 11 tracks along with three b-sides, “youth of the young,” “interrobang,” and “the sound of holding breath.” The deluxe also features two recently released album track remixes, “i need you (to be wrong),” remixed by the indie-pop group lovelytheband and “wolves,” remixed by indie-rock band, Sir Sly.
Following the announcement that this July she will embark on a tour with The Cult and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club as well as an appearance at Summerfest in Milwaukee, today Danilova has announced her sole US headlining date in 2022, a show at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles on August 6th.
