The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance proudly presents Los Nutcrackers: A Christmas Carajo, written by Charles Rice-González and directed by Fernando Vieira. This year marks the play's 16th year at BAAD!, and the second time that Vieira helms the work. The play interweaves two holiday classics, The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, to create a queer, Latino play about a couple who go on a psychedelic trip through their lives one Christmas Eve.

Casting Announced For 200th Anniversary Show, SHACKLETON AND HIS STOWAWAY at Park Theatre

Following two sell-out runs at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018 and at London's Cervantes Theatre, Shackleton and his Stowaway opens the Park90 2020 season. The run will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the discovery of the Antarctic, with the anniversary date falling on 30th January 2020. This thrilling two-hander is based on historical facts, exploring a fictionalised relationship between Ernest Shackleton and the young stowaway who boarded Endurance. The production runs from 8th January a?" 1st February 2020, with the official press night being held on Friday 10th January 2020 at 7pm.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, one of the nation's premier music ensembles and a leader in presenting wide-ranging repertoire, offers three Baroque Conversations programs curated and led by LACO artists during the 2019-20 season, each with back-to-back performances on Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 pm. LACO Music Director Jaime Martín conducts Handel's spirited Water Music, as well as works by Telemann and R. Strauss on November 21 and 22, 2019; Principal Trumpet David Washburn and Principal Horn Michael Thornton co-lead an all-brass program, including works by Bach, Vivaldi, Handel and Purcell on January 16 and 17, 2020; and Principal Keyboard Patricia Mabee, featured on harpsichord, leads a diverse range of work for harpsichord, theorbo and baroque guitar by a range of contemporary and Baroque-era Hispanic and Latin American composers on a program entitled a?oeBorder Crossings,a?? on March 12 and 13, 2020.
