As a self-proclaimed nerd and likely (albeit undeclared) drama major in college, one of my favorite pastimes is keeping up with current events in the theater world. I aspire to work in the theater industry someday, and staying engaged and informed is an essential part of working towards that goal. Deadline reports that Mary-Louise Parker will reprise her role on an upcoming 'Weeds' sequel series from Starz. The original series ran between 2005 and 2012.

FOX invites you to survive the holidays with the all-new comedy event series THE MOODYS, starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominees Denis Leary (a?oeRescue Me,a?? a?oeAnimal Kingdoma??) and Elizabeth Perkins (a?oeSharp Objects,a?? a?oeWeedsa??), airing over three nights, with back-to-back episodes, beginning Wednesday, Dec. 4 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT and 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The series continues the following week with back-to-back episodes on Monday, Dec. 9 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT and 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Tuesday, Dec. 10 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT and 9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT).

Deadline reports Chelsea Frei will star opposite Denis Leary and Elizabeth Perkins in A Moody Christmas, Fox's half-hour holiday event series. The six-episode series will air in December.

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) announced the winners of the 44th annual Gracie Awards to take place May 21 at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. The event will recognize such esteemed honorees as Sandra Oh, Tisha Thompson, Rachel Maddow, Connie Britton, Elizabeth Perkins, Patricia Arquette, Leah Remini, Robin Roberts, Laura Lynch, Rachel Bloom, Angela Yee, Maura Tierney, Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, along with some of the most talented women in television, radio and digital media. Local and student award winners will be recognized at the Gracie Awards Luncheon on June 26 at Cipriani in New York City.

Last night, the Critics' Choice Awards were announced. Taking home the top prize of Best Picture was Roma. Also, in a surprising turn of events, both Lady Gaga and Glenn Close took home the award for Best Actress, for A Star is Born and The Wife, respectively.

The Central New York Playhouse Holiday production for this season is the timeless classic Miracle on 34th Street under the direction of Bella Calabria. production, set in present day, is heartwarming, nostalgic, and, as per usual, demonstrates the devotion of the community theater performers to their craft.

Comedy Central's Drunk History and Corporate are both back with new episodes beginning Tuesday, January 15 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT respectively.
