This season, the acclaimed men's vocal ensemble Cantus presents Alone Together, a program featuring a new commission by Libby Larsen exploring the struggle to build meaningful connections in a world that has never been more connected. Cantus will perform this program on tour in 2018-19 in three dozen cities throughout North America. The ensemble will also present their innovative take on an age-old Christmas tradition, called Lessons and Carols for our Time, during the Holiday season. Additionally, the ensemble will collaborate with the women's vocal ensemble Lorelei in a one-night-only performance event at the Ordway in St. Paul Minnesota to be broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio.

After a sold-out run at the 1998 Lincoln Center Festival, the opera PATIENCE & SARAH returns to New York as a staged concert performance for two nights only - Thursday, June 23rd and Friday, June 24th at 7PM at the Players Theatre (115 MacDougal Street). Considered the first opera to portray an openly romantic relationship between two self-affirming women, PATIENCE & SARAH is composed by Paula Kimper with libretto by Wende Persons.  The work is based on the novel of the same title by Isabel Miller. Paula Kimper is conducting with Douglas Moser directing. BENSON Plays the Marlowe Studio Tonight

Canterbury-based Victoria Field took part in Marlowe's Playwrights, The Marlowe's termly course on writing for the stage. It is there that she wrote Benson, which is based on events in the life of Edward White Benson, Bishop of Truro and later Archbishop of Canterbury. The play explores a number of themes, including the use and abuse of power, the nature of love, family and marital relationships, faith and loss, the role of iconic buildings in public life and the cost of creativity.
