Rubicon Theatre audiences are invited to a?oerejoice and be plaida?? this holiday season as Ventura's non-profit professional theatre company presents the hilarious and heartwarming musical comedy PLAID TIDINGS, which begins previews December 11 and continues through December 29 at the theatre's home in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District.

While Thanksgiving may be late this year, we are a little over a month away from the Christmas holiday. Des Moines Performing Arts is jumping into the holiday season. Tuesday evening, they opened the return engagement of 'Irving Berlin's White Christmas,' which runs through Sunday, November 24. Watching this production was like opening a Christmas Card, and I found myself smiling from beginning to end. I am excited to share what made this production fun to watch.

The McCallum Theatre welcomes the return of The Beach Boys for two performances on Sunday, December 1, at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm. You can capsulize most pop music acts by how many hits they've had and how many millions of albums they've sold. These conventional measurements fall short when you're assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. This band birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions. Its greater significance lies in the fact that The Beach Boys' songs forever changed the musical landscape, profoundly influencing countless performing artists.

Cabaret patroness Madame Mathieu has selected Lindsey Brett Carothers (Bring it On, Wicked) and Devin Ilaw (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) as guests of honor at the November edition of Bistro Awards Critics' Pick Madame's Soiree. The show is now in its fourth hit season at The Duplex. The Broadway duo will be joined on the program by a distinguished group of emerging artists from a variety of disciplines.

Hudson's own Bindlestiff Family Cirkus continues its wintertime tradition of hosting a monthly cabaret in winter 2020, featuring a variety of circus, theater, comedy and musical entertainers, at Club Helsinki Hudson with four shows: its adult-oriented cabaret kicking off at 9pm on Saturday, January 18; continuing on Saturday, February 22; and again on Saturday, March 21; plus a Sunday matinee show on March 22 at 3pm geared to the entire family.

Transporting you to the 1950s with close-knit harmonies and pitch perfect renditions, FOREVER PLAID is a gentle jukebox musical perfect for some doo-wop nostalgia. Consisting of four members and giving off The Four Seasons feelings in some respects, this production has a loose storyline and is more focused on showing off the vocal and stage talents of the quartet; of which there is plenty.

In a limited engagement, three international touring casts along with students from the Corona, CA-based, fully accredited, The Young Americans College of Performing Arts come together to stage the high-energy The Magic of Christmas, Southern California's longest-running holiday extravaganza.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts presents Beatles '69, featuring The Moondogs performing both albums The Beatles recorded in 1969, Let It Be & Abbey Road, in their entirety, on Friday, November 1 at 8pm.
