The Acting Company has announced a staged concert reading of award-winning playwright  Marcus Gardley's A Wolf in Snakeskin Shoes: Or The Gospel of Tartuffe on Monday, November  8th at 7:00pm at Florence Gould Hall (55 East 59th Street). Gardley returns to The Acting Company  after his critically acclaimed play X: or, Betty Shabazz v. The Nation had an extended run off  Broadway in 2017.

New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month with an online readings series.

On March 13 and 20, 2021 New York's New Federal Theatre (NFT) will present 'New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month,' a retrospective readings series in which significant plays from the '80s on generational issues in Black women's lives will be recreated by noted actors and directors.  The readings will be free and accessible from NFT's website, https://www.newfederaltheatre.com. Donations will be gratefully accepted.

'The Annex,' a new sketch comedy series, created by actor, writer, director Garth Kravits and Evan Daves, is an official selection of the Palm Springs International Comedy Festival and is screening online through September 18. From June 2 to 30, Woodie King Jr.'s New Federal Theatre will present 'Tuesdays in June 2020: Rapping with the Artists & Play Readings,' a program of seven live-streamed discussions and play reading events featuring distinguished artists who have done formative and influential work at New Federal Theater.

Time stands still but life goes on might be one way of looking at Will Eno's charming and sweetly philosophical The Underlying Chris, receiving a fine premiere production directed by Kenny Leon at Second Stage.

Second Stage Theater just celebrated opening night of the world premiere of Will Eno's The Underlying Chris. Directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, the production will feature Hannah Cabell, Michael Countryman, Denise Burse, Nicholas Hutchinson, Lenne Klingaman, Lizbeth MacKay, Nidra Sous La Terre, Howard Overshown, Isabella Russo, Charles Turner, And Luis Vega.

Charlotte's Off Broadway (Producer, Anne Lambert) is very happy to welcome April Armstrong (Ragtime, Carousel) to the company for the Off-Broadway premiere of Confidence (and The Speech), a new play, written by Susan Lambert Hatem and directed by Hannah Ryan (Hamilton, An American in Paris). Ms. Armstrong will portray President Jimmy Carter (replacing the previously announced Denise Burse) for a limited engagement at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street a?" between 9th & 10th Avenues). Previews will begin on Thursday, November 14 at 8pm with an official opening on Wednesday, November 20th at 8pm. Performances will continue through December 7th.
