Singers from the Black Broadway community have joined together to create a music and mental health album of inspirational cover songs. In just two rehearsals, the Darkness RISING cast recorded an album intended for anyone who lives with anxiety, depression, bipolar, or other mental illnesses. Music has been proven be therapeutic and healing. It can provide emotional support, increase motivation, and offer an outlet for expression of feelings.
Singers and musicians from the Black Broadway community will sing inspirational cover songs from their upcoming album: Darkness RISING. The concert benefits BLK HLTH, an organization which focuses on the wellness of the Black community. The concert will be held at The Triad NYC on Monday, April 2nd at 7pm. Last summer, motivated by a desire for civil peace, David Rowen launched a campaign to raise money for a video project that would promote love and unity, and he donated a portion of all proceeds to Teen and Police Service (TAPS) Academy.
Over the past year, David Rowen has produced several music videos through his YouTube channel, davidrowen/creative, covering music from the pop/rock and Broadway catalogues.
