When the national tour of KIMBERLY AKIMBO arrived in New Orleans, it brought a Tony-winning musical balancing quirky humor and emotional depth.

Overture Center for the Arts has announced that tickets for “Kimberly Akimbo,” winner of five 2023 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the most critically acclaimed musical of its season, will go on sale starting Friday, Oct. 17.

Now playing at the Bass Concert Hall through October 5th, KIMBERLY AKIMBO is a darkly funny and deeply heartfelt musical about finding joy in the midst of life’s complications. At its center is Kimberly Levaco (played by the magnificent Ann Morrison), a bright, witty teenager from suburban New Jersey who looks like a 72-year-old woman due to a rare genetic condition that drastically accelerates aging.

The American Theatre Guild will present Kimberly Akimbo, the 2023 Tony Award winner for Best Musical, at Birmingham’s BJCC Concert Hall November 25–30, 2025. The engagement is part of the 2025–2026 Broadway in Birmingham Series.

This touring production of the 2023 Tony Award winner for Best Musical, KIMBERLY AKIMBO, is based on David Lindsay-Abaire’s play of the same name. Kimberly, about to turn 16, has just moved with her family to a quiet suburb in New Jersey.

PNC Broadway in Kansas City will present the North American Tour of KIMBERLY AKIMBO, winner of five 2023 Tony Awards including Best Musical, at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts from January 20–25, 2026.

Ensemble Arts Philly and The Shubert Organization will present the Philadelphia premiere of KIMBERLY AKIMBO, winner of five 2023 Tony Awards including Best Musical, at the Academy of Music from October 21 through November 2, 2025.

Scenic designer John Lee Beatty will be honored with the Ming Cho Lee Award for Lifetime Achievement in Design bestowed by the Henry Hewes Design Awards .

Scripps Ranch Theatre will kick off their Season 46 with Kimberly Akimbo,  written by David Lindsay-Abaire. Directed by Ted Leib, the production runs September 26th - October 19th  on the campus of Alliant International University.
