Broadway legend Nathan Lane made a surprise visit to bergenPAC’s Performing Arts School to watch Shrek The Musical, praising the student cast and inspiring the next generation of performers in Northern New Jersey.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced initial casting for the world premiere of The Balusters, by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon.  

“The Book Club Play” will be the first production of Terrific New Theatre's 2025/2026 season in its new theatrical space. It will open August 14, as the premiere offering in what is being referred to as “2025/2026: The Full Return of TNT.” The title references TNT's mini-season of 2024/2025, which consisted of four productions. This new, full season will include six presentations: four plays, one musical, and one play with music.

The best part of this production is the way in which every actor appears fully engaged every moment they are on stage, and they all look like they’re having the time of their lives.

Bergen Performing Arts Center’s Performing Arts School (PAS) will bring Shrek The Musical to life this summer with a trio of performances featuring some of Northern New Jersey’s most promising young performers.

Tony Award winners Sutton Foster (“Anything Goes,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie”) and Kelli O’Hara (“The King and I”) – each acclaimed as a Broadway performer and song-and-dance artist of the first order – are also known for solo concert appearances.

Texas Performing Arts will present the Austin engagement of KIMBERLY AKIMBO, the five-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, at Bass Concert Hall from September 30 to October 5, 2025, as part of the 2025–2026 Broadway in Austin season.

Offerings of the musical theater cover a vast array of topics.  There is the tale of the young prince who wants to find his “Corner of the sky” (PIPPIN), the flower girl who wants to be a lady (MY FAIR LADY), and the dairy man who has a life ruled by tradition (FIDDLER ON THE ROOF).

Newport World Resorts (NWR) is looking to cast 'Young and Teen Fiona' in its upcoming production of the Broadway smash 'Shrek The Musical.' The musical is based on Dreamworks’ animated film, featuring the book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, who have also collaborated on the Tony Award-winning musical 'Kimberly Akimbo.'
