by Shari Barrett
- Nov 18, 2021
Having a dream is like running with scissors. Just one false step and the journey, or even your life, can be over. I asked SALVAGE director Damian D. Lewis about his own dream and how much he was willing to do to achieve it. The same theme runs through SALVAGE centering around Harley, a singer-songwriter whose wife is expecting their first child and his journey to deciding what is more important - pursuing his dream or accepting the responsibilities of family life.

Having a dream is like running with scissors. Harley, a singer-songwriter whose wife is expecting their first child, has decided to hang up his dream before it destroys his family. Co-founders Millie Gaston and Katie Wilmore, from Harrogate in North Yorkshire, had a drink together (over zoom, of course) and decided they wouldn't let the restrictions stop them bringing some of the best new writing to their audience! They decided to host a free online version so people could be entertained from the comfort of their home, with the hope of raising money for Acting for Others through voluntary donations.

BWW Review: Country Comes to the City in the melancholy-tinged SALVAGE
by Harker Jones
- Dec 23, 2019
Country music is known (and often ridiculed) for its soap opera-like lyrics. Its storytelling often takes listeners on journeys of sadness and despair, and redemption. Tim Alderson's SALVAGE, playing at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood through January 19, follows those tropes with mostly effective results and hits viewers with a cathartic and emotional impact.
