The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 23a?"February 2, 2020. The Sundance Film Festival is Sundance Institute's flagship public program, widely regarded as the largest American independent film festival and attended by more than 120,000 people and 1,300 accredited press, and powered by more than 2,000 volunteers last year.

Quibi has announced that Bill Murray has joined the cast of Farrelly brother's comedy THE NOW. Murray will star in a recurring role opposite Dave Franco.

USA Network has placed a pilot order for anthology series MASTERS OF DOOM with the first installment based on award-winning journalist and author David Kushner's landmark nonfiction book of the same name.

Creator Joe Swanberg's “Easy” returns for a third and final season on May 10, only on Netflix. This morning, Film Independent announced that Aubrey Plaza (Ingrid Goes West, Legion, Parks & Recreation) will host the 2019 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The Spirit Awards are the primary fundraiser for Film Independent's year-round programs, which cultivate the careers of emerging filmmakers and promote diversity in the industry. Nominees were announced by Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians, Captain Marvel, Mary Queen of Scots) and Molly Shannon (Divorce, Private Life, Other People) at a press conference on November 16. Best Feature nominees include Eighth Grade, First Reformed, If Beale Street Could Talk, Leave No Trace and You Were Never Really Here. The show will broadcast live exclusively on IFC at 2:00 pm PT/ 5:00 pm ET on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK closes out inaugural Smithsonian African American Film Festival at the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, October 27th.

'The Girl in the Spider's Web' will premiere at the 13th Rome Film Fest. The festival's opening night film will be 'Bad Times at the El Royale.'
