Daniel J. Watts and WattsWords Productions will present Daniel J. Watts' The Jam: Love Terrorists, a transformative display of music, dance, spoken word, and storytelling on Monday, June 29th. The show begins at 7:30pm EDT/4:30pm PT and will be streamed live from BETplus' Instagram handle: @betplus.

Broadway Black, the multimedia organization highlighting the achievements of Black theatre artists, has announced the inaugural Antonyo Awards, a celebration of the Black Broadway and Off-Broadway community.

The Outer Critics Circle (OCC), the official organization of writers on New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers and national publications, today announced its plans for honoring the 2019-2020 season of Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.

From March 24th-29th, North Carolina Theatre will be presenting a production of Joe DiPietro & David Bryan's 2010 Tony-winning musical, Memphis, at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. I recently had the great pleasure of interviewing Robert Hartwell, who will be directing and choreographing the production.

Building on its Fall launch, the Broadway League's Let's Do Broadway! initiative invited a select group of African American influencers and cultural leaders to a special afternoon of theatre performance and conversation on Saturday, February 29, 2020 marking the conclusion of Black History Month. Attendees had the opportunity to see one of four participating Broadway shows: Girl from the North Country, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, The Phantom of the Opera, and Tina - the Tina Turner Musical.

On last night's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the cast of the hit Broadway musical 'TINA: The Tina Turner Musical,' performed 'River Deep/Mountain High,' led by the incredible Adrienne Warren.

The 30th Annual LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards, celebrating theatrical excellence and achievement throughout Los Angeles, were presented on Monday, January 13, at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown LA.

This popular and highly-anticipated festival of The Public's winter season will include artists from across the U.S. and around the world, including Australia, Chile, China, Japan, Mexico, Palestine, Taiwan, and the U.K. Curated by UTR Festival Director Mark Russell, this year's UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL continues to expand to venues throughout New York City, in addition to The Public Theater's home at Astor Place.

It is such a beautiful thing to hear stories of actors opening doors for each other but so many things have happened in the career of Daniel J. Watts because of generosity shown to him and the generosity he has shown to others. From Andy Blankenbuehler to Adrienne Warren the list is long and filled with those who were his champions because of his glorious talent and equally glorious heart. He is slaying nightly as Ike Turner in the Broadway musical TINA.
