Sooner Theatre is presenting Guys & Dolls, through March 7, 2021. The music is based on The Idyll of Sarah Brown and characters by Damon Runyon, with a book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling, and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser.

Following its continuous success in presenting Hong Kong's best-selling musicals, including Titanic, Catch Me If You Can, Singin' in the Rain, Into the Woods, Legally Blonde, My Fair Lady, and many more, Face Productions is performing its latest musical Guys and Dolls this weekend at Hong Kong Arts Centre's Shouson Theatre, Wan Chai.

On this day in 1950, Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls opened at the Forty-Sixth Street Theatre.

Wynn Handman, the famed New York acting teacher and Artistic Director of The American Place Theatre, died at home April 11, 2020 of Covid-19 related pneumonia. He was 97.

We then close out the show at the opening night of director Des McAnuff's revival of the classic Frank Loesser musical Guys and Dolls. Des said, 'I wanted to go back to Damon Runyon's time. He wrote the Broadway stories between '29 and '37 so, we set it very loosely in '35, it's a mythic landscape anyway, and I asked Jo Loesser about this idea and she thought Frank would like it, so that was good enough for me.'

The Fountain Hills Youth Theater is proud to announce the opening of Guys and Dolls, Jr.

Ford's Theatre Society announced full casting and design team for Guys and Dolls, directed by Peter Flynn. The production features Maria Egler as Miss Adelaide, Joe Mallon as Nathan Detroit, Bueka Uwemedimo as Sky Masterson and Karen Vincent as Sarah Brown. The musical features showstoppers 'Luck be a Lady,' 'Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat,' 'Take Back Your Mink' and more, and plays March 13 to May 20, 2020, at historic Ford's Theatre. The production is recommended for ages 10 and older.

Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.

Word for Word's first production of the 2020 Season is Octavio Solis's Retablos: Stories from A Life Lived Along the Border from his same titled memoir of growing up in El Paso. Retablos: Stories from A Life Lived Along the Border runs February 22 -March 15, in the Z Below Theater in San Francisco. The production is directed by Sheila Balter and Jim Cave and opens with press performance February 22 & 23, Saturday 8 PM & Sunday 3 PM (previews Feb.19- 21).

The classics are my favorite, and Broadway at Music Circus' fresh take on Guys and Dolls is no exception. When it opened on Broadway in 1950, it won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. With three more Broadway revivals, it has cemented itself as a staple of American musicals. It is based on the short stories of Damon Runyon, an American author and reporter who favored tales about the seedier happenings of Broadway.

ANOTHER ROLL OF THE DICE at North Coast Repertory Theatre invites audiences back to the fast taking, musical filled world of Damon Runyon with this fun and nostalgic return to Runyonland.

North Coast Repertory Theatre has extended through August 11th its highly successful World Premiere of ANOTHER ROLL OF THE DICE, a rollicking musical with book by Mark Saltzman, reuniting the talents of songwriter Frank Loesser and author Damon Runyon, creators of the legendary Guys and Dolls. In Dice, three classic Runyon stories are intertwined with hits from the Loesser songbook, including "Heart and Soul," "I Hear Music," "Two Sleepy People," and "Let's Get Lost," performed by iconic Damon Runyon gangland characters.

Emmy-winning writer Mark Saltzman will be back on the theatrical boards with the world premiere of his ANOTHER ROLL OF THE DICE, beginning July 10, 2019 at the North Coast Rep Theatre. Mark has based ANOTHER ROLL OF THE DICE, his companion piece to GUYS AND DOLLS, on the short stories of Damon Runyon and the time-tested songs of Frank Loesser.
