One of the founders and leading musicians of Afropop, Julius comes to BRIC to give a rare U.S. performance. Live performances kick off at 8pm with Brooklyn afro-funksters Kaleta & Super Yamba Band. 

Alex Anwandter and Balún Come to BRIC House

BRIC, the pioneering Brooklyn arts and media institution, begins the 2020 season of BRIC House Sessions on March 5 with a Latinx indie double-bill featuring Latin GRAMMY Award-nominated singer-songwriter Alex Anwandter and Brooklyn-based global pop darlings Balún. A leading name in South America's new vibrant indie pop scene, Anwandter comes to perform his critically-acclaimed album Latinoamericana. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the fifteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Angela Sclafani & Benjamin Velez. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Kate Baldwin on Monday, December 2nd from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

Sony Music Masterworks to Release THE TURNING Soundtrack

KRO Records / Sony Music Masterworks have announced the January 24, 2020 release of the official soundtrack for the Floria Sigismondi (The Runaways, Handmaid's Tale) directed film THE TURNING (DreamWorks Pictures) a?' preorder now.  Starring Finn Wolfhard, Mackenzie Davis and Brooklynn Prince, the film will be released in theaters on January 24, 2020.  Produced by Los Angeles singer/songwriter Lawrence Rothman and producer Yves Rothman, the soundtrack features a dumbfounding amount of revered artists, including Courtney Love, Mitski, Soccer Mommy, Empress Of, Vagabon, Warpaint, Cherry Glazerr, Kali Uchis, Alice Glass, girl in red, MUNA, The Aubreys (Finn Wolfhard's new band) and more (full tracklisting below).
