Goodspeed Musicals has announced the cast for the world premiere musical comedy Summer Stock, the second production of its 60th anniversary season. Filled with exuberant dance numbers and hits from the American songbook, it is adapted from the MGM/Warner Bros. film Summer Stock and will appear on the Goodspeed stage from July 7 – August 27 in East Haddam, Connecticut.
Jillian Armstrong from Milford High School and Mark Bonney from Detroit School of Arts were named Outstanding Performers in a Leading Role at the 11th annual Sutton Foster Awards at Detroit's Fisher Theatre on Sunday, May 21. The award, named in honor of Michigan's own Broadway star, Sutton Foster, is a celebration of outstanding achievement in individual artistry, vocal, dance, and acting performance for two leads in a high school musical theatre production. Jillian and Mark and were two of the 116 high school drama students from across Michigan to compete for the award.

The 10th Annual Heller Awards for Young Artists (HAYAs) took place last night at the Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, TX, presented by the Long Center, in partnership with Texas Performing Arts, and ZACH Theatre.
