New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani announced the members of his inaugural committee, including familiar theater faces like Cole Escola, Cynthia Nixon, John Turturro, and Julio Torres.

La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club will present the workshop production of The Thousand and One Nights, a reimagining of the  epic from Lebanese-American director and playwright Ghina Fawaz and Turkish dramaturg and artist Begüm 'Begsy' Inal.

But before that OH, MARY! run, John is coming to NUMBERS HOUSTON to do a special all-day event for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. It's gonna happen on December 28th! It's all brought to us by ARTHOUSE HOUSTON, who were the folks who fought to save the River Oaks Movie Theater.

Oh, Mary! is an uproariously dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of playwright Cole Escola. The production has now landed in the West End-but what did the critics think?

There has been much hype about Cole Escola's comedy play, Oh, Mary!, spoofing the lives of a former US President and his wife Mary in the days leading up to his assassination. Its Off-Broadway run was extended twice, moved to Broadway where it is still playing and now lands in the West End. So does it merit the buzz? Yes, and no.

Actor Simu Liu will make his Broadway debut in the smash hit play Oh, Mary! Liu will join the Broadway comedy as “Mary’s Teacher” beginning on Tuesday, February 3, for performances through Tuesday, April 21.
