Before Liam Robinson took on his critical role as vocal arranger and music director of the Broadway sensation Hadestown, he was writing songs of his own and playing them with his partner Jean Rohe as the duo Robinson & Rohe. Now, with the release of Into the Night, the duo’s long-awaited sophomore album, on Ani DiFranco’s Righteous Babe Records, fans of Hadestown get to hear one of the instrumental members of its creative team take center stage.

The Beggar was recorded and mixed at Candy Bomber Studio, Berlin, engineered by Ingo Krauss and mastered by Doug Henderson at Micro-Moose, Berlin. The album was written and produced by Michael Gira and features contributions from recent and former Swans, members of Angels of Light, as well as Guest Swan Ben Frost.
