The University of Washington School of Drama, led by Interim Executive Director Lynn M. Thomas and Associate Director Geoff Korf, is pleased to announce its 2019 - 2020 season.

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for Cabaret, the Tony Award-winning musical that will close the company's 2018/19 Season. Susi Damilano will direct, with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

Bristol Riverside Theatre announces its 2019-2020 season which includes two musicals, a comedy, a world-premiere farce, and a masterpiece like you've never seen it before. The new season features An Act of God by David Javerbaum; Next to Normal with music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey; King Lear by William Shakespeare; Cabaret with book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb; and A Leg Up by Ken Kaissar.

Cincinnati Music Theatre (CMT), a resident company of the Aronoff Center for the Arts, is pleased to announce its 2019-20 Season, including two full-scale musical productions in the Jarson-Kaplan Theater and three Studio Series productions in the intimate Fifth Third Bank Theater.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) announces casting for the second production of the 2019 Nutmeg Summer Series: "Cabaret," the Tony-Award-winning musical centering around a German nightclub against the backdrop of the Nazis' rise to power.  The cast will be led by Olivier Award-winner Laura Michelle Kelly (Broadway's "Mary Poppins," "Finding Neverland") as Sally Bowles and Tony Award-nominee Forrest McClendon ("The Scottsboro Boys") as the Emcee.

Multi-award nominated Blue Devil Productions is excited to announce that I am a Camera by John Van Druten and directed by Ross Dinwiddy, is coming to Brighton Fringe for 6 nights in May. In this rare revival of the play upon which Cabaret is based, we see a rich picture of heartbreaking pathos, wicked comedy and the divine decadence of 1931 Berlin - but soon the carefree indulgence must end as the Nazis smash their way to power.

The Guthrie Theater (Joseph Haj, artistic director) today announced the nine productions of its 2019 2020 subscription season: Tennessee Williams' classic family drama The Glass Menagerie; Shakespeare's rollicking comedy Twelfth Night; an adaptation of Emma based on the Jane Austen novel; and Kander and Ebb's musical Cabaret will grace the Guthrie's signature Wurtele Thrust Stage while the McGuire Proscenium Stage's lineup will include Robert Harling's female-driven comedy Steel Magnolias; the regional premiere of Noura, Heather Raffo's complex tale of identity; Anne Bogart's acclaimed production of Euripides' The Bacchae; Karen Zacar as' comedic telenovela Destiny of Desire; and Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer Prize-winning Sweat.

CABARET is playing at Meridian Centrepointe in Ottawa now through February 23, 2019.

The place is 1930s Berlin during the fading years of the Weimar Republic before Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany. The play is 'Cabaret,' the 1966 multiple Tony Award winning musical iteration of Christopher Isherwood's semi-autobiographical novel about the rise of the Nazis and libertine Europe performed at the Jewish Community Center's White Theatre.

Artistic Director and Chair of the CSULB Theatre Arts Department Jeff Janisheski continues his 3rd season strengthening partnerships with artists in our community.  This season features artists from across the creative spectrum: Welcoming professional directors such has Ovation-nominated Kari Hayter and Bootleg Theater co-founder Jessica Hanna, and Bruce A Lemon Jr., Artistic Director of Watts Village Theater. CABARET is a 1966 musical with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Joe Masteroff, based on John Van Druten's 1951 play I Am a Camera, which was adapted from the short novel Goodbye to Berlin (1939) by Christopher Isherwood. Set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, it focuses on the nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub, and revolves around young American writer Cliff Bradshaw (John Fredrickson) and his relationship with English cabaret performer Sally Bowles (Logan-Rae). The musical was also made into a 1972 film.

Karissa Wheeler's senior year at The University of the South/Sewanee has only just started, but already she's caught up in the whirlwind of a typical – for her, especially – packed and rather crazy schedule, immersed in classes while moving into rehearsals for what may be the most demanding role in which she's ever been cast: Sally Bowles in the iconic Kander and Ebb musical, Cabaret, which is based on John Van Druten's play I Am A Camera, which in turn is inspired Christopher Isherwood's memoir (Goodbye to Berlin) of his years as a struggling young writer in the heady days of Weimar Germany.

Encompass New Opera Theatre will present the world premiere of Anna Christie with music by Edward Thomas set to a libretto by Joseph Masteroff, beginning on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 8pm, running through Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Baruch Performing Arts Center (at 55 Lexington Avenue, entrance on 25th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues).
