The Huntington 2023 Spotlight Gala Shatters Records, Raising $1.67M

The Huntington held its annual Spotlight Gala on Monday, May 1, 2023 at the Cyclorama at the BCA (539 Tremont St). Over 400 attendees gathered to celebrate honorees as well as the achievement of this transformational season. The Gala supports The Huntington's artistic, education, and community initiatives and this year set an all-time record with $1.67 million raised.

Boston Theater Celebrates Free Expression With BANNED TOGETHER- A CENSORSHIP CABARET

Patrick Gabridge, Eastern New England Regional Representative for the Dramatists Guild, announces the Boston performance of Banned Together: A Censorship Cabaret, in partnership with the Dramatists Legal Defense Fund and PEN America. Banned Together will run for one performance only on Monday, Sept. 23rd from 7-8:30 pm at the Boston Public Library, Main Branch (700 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116). Banned Together is a celebration of songs and scenes from shows that have been censored or challenged on America's stages. Award-winning Boston directors Ilyse Robbins and Weylin Symes helm the reading along with Music Director Matthew Stern, and featuring a cast of Boston-based professional actors. Free and open to the public, no advance tickets are needed.

The Greater Boston Stage Company presents the U.S. premiere of a new musical by Amiel Gladstone and Veda Hille, based on the poem by Pushkin and the opera by Tchaikovsky. The pop rock score takes flight, but the sung-through libretto doesn't rise to the same lofty level as the music. Depending on your point of view, ONEGIN pays homage to NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 and HAMILTON, or borrows from both.

Greater Boston Stage Company proudly announces the U.S. Premiere of Amiel Gladstone and Veda Hill's, Onegin. Based on Pushkin's masterpiece novel in verse and Tchaikovsky's stunning opera, Onegin tells the love story of the innocent Tatyana and the self-obsessed aristocrat Onegin. This soaring musical adaptation begs you to answer the question, "Look around, look around, look around, Do you see someone worth dying for?" Directed by Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes, performances run March 14 - 31, 2019. The Press Opening is Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 3:00pm.
