The summer is winding down in a big way on the Long Island theatre scene. The hit musical, Newsies, is being presented by The Gateway at the beautiful Patchogue Theatre and this offering is a must see. Running through September 11th and directed by Larry Raben, the Broadway caliber cast is superb and you’ll find yourself thinking about how this tale, set in the 1890’s, still applies today.

This week, WINMI's third annual Audition Stories has come to the podcast. The previous audition episodes were released just a month before the COVID-19 shut down. And there have been a lot of guests with a lot of great stories since then.

The Gateway will open NEWSIES to fully vaccinated audiences beginning August 25th at Patchogue Theatre. The entire company including all actors, musicians, technical support personnel, directors, designers, box office and admin staff have all been fully vaccinated for Covid-19. 

Disney's Newsies, presented by The Gateway, will be the first full-scale professional production at the Patchogue Theatre since shutting down due to the pandemic. It will run from August 25 through September 11th.

Celebrating its 75th Anniversary as 'The Miracle of the Forest,' Forestburgh Playhouse, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Franklin Trapp, will present in Rep: the heavenly musical hit ALTAR BOYZ and the 60s salute to girl groups BEEHIVE with performances July 13-25.

Directed and Choreographed by Chaz Wolcott (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Me and My Girl, Kiss Me Kate, Crazy For You and Mary Poppins), with musical direction by T.C. Kincer, the revue features the 2021 Resident Company: John Zamborsky, Liat Shuflita, Collin Hancock, Anthony DaSilva, Sydney Krauth, Andrew Faria, Logan Gray Saad, Susana Wickstrom, Crystal Renee Wright, Renell Taylor, Elise Shangold and Ethan Van Slyke.

'How would you put the last year into words?' Cooped Up quickly answers that question: You can't!! Instead, Creator and Director Chaz Wolcott tells the tale of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent shutdown entirely through dance. This new series takes viewers on a theatremaker's journey to find ways to cope with his harsh new existence amidst a global pandemic.
