Royal Opera House has announced its must see productions for Spring 2023. Contemporary and much-loved productions to bring in the new year. A thrilling range of opera and ballet will be live in cinemas around the world.

Following on from its 2013 Broadway premiere, Douglas Carter Beane’s (Book) stage adaptation of Richard Rodgers (Music) and Oscar Hammerstein II’s (Lyrics and book) CINDERELLA waltzes onto the Lyric stage to captivate Sydney audiences of all ages.

Clorinda and Tisbe are maliciously mean towards their stepsister Angelina (Cinderella), who dreams of meeting her one and only, all while covered in ash and confined to her chores in the family kitchen. Charles Perrault’s fairytale collection Mother Goose Tales (1697) was the starting point for 24-year-old Rossini’s libretto. Indeed, these fantastical stories have throughout the years inspired other celebrated composers, including Ravel.

The Greek National Opera’s 2022-23 season curated by GNO Artistic Director Giorgos Koumendakis will feature ten new opera and ballet productions, one newly commissioned opera, five revivals of past productions, music concerts, major co-productions with some of the world’s foremost opera houses, collaborations with leading conductors and more.

Alberta Ballet’s most successful production returns to centre stage.

Los Altos Stage Company has announced its 2022-2023 (28th) Season of plays and musicals, continuing its tradition of presenting bold, entertaining, and thought-provoking theatre.

Peninsula Ballet Theatre will conclude the company's 54th season March 11 and 12 with one of the most charming and captivating fairy tales in the classical ballet repertoire, Cinderella.

The company's winter season will open February 11 and 12 with its first-ever musical theater production, Frank Loesser's Tony Award-winning Guys and Dolls.

Theatre Re's folktale-inspired production Bluebelle, developed in collaboration with deaf and Visual Vernacular artists, comes to The Lowry this February.  This atmospheric and visually striking show tells a brand new folk story, weaving together plots from tales by Angela Carter, Italo Calvino, the Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault. 

Raleigh Little Theatre presents its 37th annual production of the Prince Street Players version of “Cinderella,” following a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault, this musical version is adapted by Jim Eiler with music by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy. This year’s production runs December 3-19 in RLT’s Cantey V. Sutton Theatre, with Mike McGee returning as director for the third consecutive year.

One of New York City's most innovative opera companies, City Lyric Opera, has chosen Pauline Viardot's Cendrillon (Cinderella) to open the company's sixth season.

One of the most famous stories in universal literature will take Sao Paulo stage. Cinderella, o Musical premieres on September 2, at Teatro Liberdade, after being seen by more than 200,000 people in its previous productions. With Fabi Bang spearheading the new cast, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella has original direction and a Brazilian version by Charles Moeller and Claudio Botelho, with Vanessa Costa signing the direction of the revival. The show returns in a big way, bringing names like Andre Loddi (Prince Topher), Gottsha (Stepmother), Helga Nemetik (Fairy Godmother), Diego Montez (Jean Michel), in a cast of 22 actors. The production is by Touche Entertainment.

Into the Woods is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. The musical intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. The American Dance Festival will present Tatiana Baganova's livestream event Bluebeard on June 27 at 1:00pm Eastern Time, 10:00am Pacific Time, and 10:00pm in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association has announced details of the 2021 summer season at The Ford, marking the return to live in-person performances at the historic venue. From July 30 through October 31, the upcoming season is the venue’s first under the stewardship of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.
