It's no surprise that many of our favorite musicals have been adapted from beloved books or films. More specifically, however, some of Broadway's most delightful shows have come straight from even more humble origins- fairy tales! Study up on some of our favorite musicals with a happily ever after.

Closing the 2023/24 Season, the English National Opera will present a semi-staged concert performance of Béla Bartók’s psychodrama Duke Bluebeard’s Castle on 21 and 23 March at the London Coliseum.
The opera will be presented in Portuguese and will feature black artists, such as soprano Marly Montoni and tenors Jean William and Mar Oliveira among the main characters; with Priscila Bomfim in the musical direction and Julianna Santos in the scenic direction. In celebration of Children's Day, there will be a performance on October 12th, at 5pm.
'Into the Woods' is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. The musical intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. The main characters are taken from “Little Red Riding Hood“, “Jack and the Beanstalk”, “Rapunzel”, and “Cinderella”, as well as several others. The musical is tied together by a story involving a childless baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family, their interaction with a witch who has cursed them, and their journey into the woods.
