Actors Community Theatre in Jasper, Indiana has announced its production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's classic musical Into the Woods directed by Evansville native Matthew Herrmann with music direction by Adrienne Collignon. There will be four performances only at the Jasper Arts Center beginning Thursday, July 25 at 7:30pm and continuing on Friday, July 26 at 7:30pm, Saturday, July 27 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, July 28 at 2pm.

Not your daughter's Cinderella! No fairy godmother; no glass slipper; no pumpkin carriage; just  Rossini's exquisite music, as Boston Midsummer Opera will present its 2019 season opera, Rossini's LA CENERENTOLA ossia La bonta in trionfo (Cinderella, or Goodness Triumphant performed in the intimate  Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown. Three performances only will be given, on July 24, 26 and 28.  Tickets are now on sale.

Rodger's + Hammerstein's Cinderella, the 2013 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, is here this weekend for a limited engagement at the Fox Theatre in Detroit as part of the Fox Theatre Series. With its fresh new take on the beloved tale of a young woman who is transformed from a chambermaid into a princess, this hilarious and romantic Cinderella combines the story's classic elements - glass slippers, pumpkin, and a beautiful ball along with some surprising twists. More than just a pretty face with the right shoe size, this Cinderella is a contemporary figure living in a fairytale setting. She is a spirited young woman with savvy and soul who doesn't let her rags or her gowns trip her up in her quest for kindness, compassion and forgiveness. She longs to escape the drudgery of her work at home and instead work to make the world a better place. She not only fights for her own dreams, but forces the prince to open his eyes to the world around him and realize his dreams too. Circle Players, one of Tennessee's oldest community theater organizations, has announced the slate of shows for its 70th anniversary season, including some of the most requested shows in the company's history which will be 'revisited' for the special season. Circle Players revealed the shows to be included in its upcoming 70th season during a party last night on the 30th floor of Nashville's L&C Tower.

INTO THE WOODS is new artistic director Marcela Lorca's debut directorial outing for Ten Thousand Things after the retirement of renowned artist and social change agent Michelle Hensley, the founder of the company. A resplendent fairytale ballet, The Bolshoi Ballet production of The Sleeping Beauty comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse movie screen in HD on Sunday, March 10 at 2pm. On her 16th birthday, Princess Aurora falls under the curse of the Evil Fairy Carabosse and into a deep slumber lasting one hundred years. Only the kiss of a prince can break the spell.
