American Ballet Theatre Reveals Casts for 2026 Spring Season

Additional casting for American Ballet Theatre’s 2026 Spring season at the David H. Koch Theater was revealed by Artistic Director Susan Jaffe. The season will include repertory programs featuring Alexei Ratmansky’s Firebird, and more.

Interview: Theatre Life with Susan Jaffe

Today’s subject Susan Jaffe is currently living her theatre and dance lives as the Artistic Director of One the country’ finest dance companies American Ballet Theatre (ABT). She assumed the post in December of 2022. ABT is coming to town this week for a weeklong engagement of the Christopher Wheeldon choreographed The Winter’s Tale. The show performs in the Opera House at Kennedy Center from February 11th through 15th.

The Bessies 2024 And 2025 Award Nominations Announced

Dixon Place will present the prestigious Bessies award ceremony, recognizing outstanding dance and performance artists, on January 20. This event highlights the achievements in dance and provides a platform for artists to be acknowledged.

The New York Dance and Performance Awards, known as THE BESSIES, will announce the 2024 and 2025 honorees at a ceremony on January 20 at Dixon Place. This year’s nominations span choreography, performance, design, and revival categories.

American Ballet Theatre To Host 2025 Spring Gala In May

American Ballet Theatre will celebrate its 85th anniversary at the 2025 Spring Gala on Wednesday, May 28, at Cipriani South Street in New York City. This special evening will honor Susan and Leonard Feinstein for their extraordinary support of ABT over more than two decades, championing education, the creation of new works, and the strength and sustainability of the Company.

Review: ABT'S CRIME AND PUNISHMENT at Kennedy Center

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) regularly brings new story ballets to DC for their Kennedy Center performances and this year was no different. Crime and Punishment, based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky, premiered in New York in the fall and is the first full-length ballet by a female choreographer in ABT’s repertory. It’s also a highly complex - and long - story to tell through dance, so I was curious to see if it would be a success.
