The company that received international media attention for their nude, body-positive productions of Shakespeare's The Tempest and Hamlet and Aphra Behn's The Rover, is thrilled to return to Prospect Park with Antigonick, an adaptation of Antigone by Anne Carson, exploring issues of body freedom and empowerment. After this difficult year of physical isolation, this production will celebrate intimacy, connection, and the magnificent importance of human touch.

Ithaca, NEW YORK, (February 2021) Ithaca College Hillel and Kyle Friedman (Ithaca College '23) present a fundraiser reading of Rye Bread, a new play written by Audrey Lang (Ithaca College '20, Pride Plays) and directed by Britt Berke (The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals).

The Civilians will present the newest members of The R&D Group, marking the Group's 10th season, and The Civilians 20th Anniversary Season. The R&D Group is comprised of playwrights, composers, and directors who work together as a writing group for nine months to develop new plays and musicals.

For the last week, the extraordinary company of The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals have been participating in intensive workshops, panel discussions with industry leaders, and producing their own Viral Monologues - and their efforts will all culminate in their own LIVE virtual edition of The 24 Hour Plays, streaming TONIGHT at 8 PM ET.

a??a??a??a??a??a??a??a?oeThe 8tha?? made sure its one win (out of seven nominations) counted as it nabbed Best Production at the 2020 Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival Awards at Rosie O'Grady's in Times Square tonight. The world premiere of Seanie Sugrue's comedy-drama about a family's tensions around Ireland's recent epic referendum to overturn the 8th Amendment outlawing abortion, ran for 13 performances at The Secret Theatre in Queens and was produced locally by Locked in the Attic Productions, with Five OHM Productions.

Productions and plays from Ireland face off against several homegrown New York productions as the 12th annual Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival hands out its awards at a closing night ceremony at Rosie O'Grady's Manhattan Club, 800 Seventh Avenue, on Monday February 3 at 6:30pm.

Six mainstage productions, several of which explore positive and dramatic social change on the Island of Ireland in the past decade, will be part of the 2020 Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival, running in venues across the city from January 7 to February 3. New York's all-Irish theatre festival and the world's only festival devoted exclusively to producing the plays of contemporary Irish playwrights from around the world, presents productions from Belfast, Dublin, Wexford, Manhattan and Queens. Three are American premieres; two are world premieres. The American premiere of Eva O'Connor's 'Maz and Bricks' and the world premiere of Sean Sugrie's 'The 8th' open the Festival on January 7.

NOVEMBER THEATRE brings award-winning British playwright, Miriam Battye's, (un)ordinary world to life. When Matty, a stranger, enters the intimate world of Ella and Zoe, what unfolds is a night of reality TV binge watching, role play, personal confessions, and two marriage proposals. As the girls work through a big life decision, the insecurities of all three are brought to a head as they go through a transformative evening of activities. 

The month-long Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival, the world's only festival devoted to producing the plays of contemporary Irish playwrights from around the world, runs four weeks from January 7 to February 3, 2020. A total 15 events, including seven mainstage productions from Belfast, Dublin, Wexford, and Manhattan and Queens, will be seen in- and out-of-competition. Among the productions, three are American premieres; two are world premieres. 15 contemporary Irish writers are represented with work in the Festival.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce this year's directors and musical directors for their 31st Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25, 2019 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Festival events will kick off on Wednesday, October 23, with the return of The 46th Minute Concert at The Green Room 42.
