Tickets For MRS. DOUBTFIRE On Broadway Are Now On Sale

Tickets for the Broadway premiere of Mrs. Doubtfire, the new musical, are now on sale at Telecharge.com. Produced by multi-Tony Award winner Kevin McCollum (Avenue Q, Rent, In The Heights, Something Rotten!), Mrs. Doubtfire is based on Twentieth Century Fox Motion Picture. Mrs. Doubtfire will begin previews on Monday, March 9, 2020 and open on Sunday, April 5 at Broadway's Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St).

Sir Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming and More Will Be Attending Only Make Believe 20th Anniversary Gala

Only Make Believe (OMB), the non-profit children's theatre company, today announced its highly anticipated 20th Anniversary Gala on November 4th at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. The organization is celebrating two decades of bringing the magic of theatre into the lives of chronically ill and disabled children throughout the New York and Washington D.C. metropolitan areas, free of charge to every partner site, family, and child.

Popular cabaret couple Paul and Rochelle Chamlin present The Marvelous Mr. Mercer, featuring songs by the prolific lyricist, composer, and singer Johnny Mercer. Directed by MAC award-winner Teresa Fischer with Tom Hubbard on bass and Daniel Glass on percussion.

Photo Flashback: Remembering Phyllis Newman

As BroadwayWorld sadly reported yesterday, stage star Phyllis Newman passed away yesterday, September 15, at the age of 86. Newman got her start in show business at 4 years old imitating Carmen Miranda in theatres and clubs. Her portrayal of Martha Vail in the Jule Styne/Comden and Green musical Subways Are For Sleeping - costumed only in a bath towel - earned her a Tony Award. Her other Broadway credits include Bells Are Ringing, The Apple Tree, On the Town, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, Awake and Sing, Wish You Were Here, First Impressions, and her one-woman musical The Madwoman of Central Park West, which she co-authored with Arthur Laurents. She garnered a Tony Award nomination for her highly-acclaimed performance in Neil Simon's Broadway Bound.

The American Songbook Association presents their second annual gala a?oeTo Life! Celebrating Sheldon Harnick,a?? on Monday, September 16 at 7:30 PM. Highlighting the gala is the presentation of the 2019 ASA Lifetime Achievement Award to this legendary lyricist of iconic shows such as Fiddler on the Roof, Fiorello!, She Loves Me, and more.
