Mrs. Doubtfire, the new musical produced by multi-Tony Award winner Kevin McCollum (Avenue Q, Rent, In The Heights, Something Rotten!), based on Twentieth Century Fox Motion Picture, has announced the full cast for the Broadway production. Previews begin Monday, March 9 in advance of an official opening night on Sunday, April 5 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St).
MRS. DOUBTFIRE is on her way to Broadway, but first the new musical is on the hunt for an additional cast member. Telsey + Company has just announced that an open casting call will be held in NYC this Monday, February 3, for ensemble/Lydia Hillard understudy.

MRS. DOUBTFIRE features a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, the Tony Award nominated team behind Something Rotten! Four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!) will direct and Lorin Latarro (Waitress) will choreograph. Ethan Popp (Tina) will serve as Music Supervisor, Arranger and Orchestrator.

There was no one like Robin Williams. Let's just state that right now. And when you think of Robin Williams, many gravitate towards his 1993 comedy smash a?oeMrs. Doubtfirea?? where he created an enduring, iconic character as a divorced father who posed as a female nanny in order to remain in the lives of his kids. No one can deny the brilliance of that performance and I will fight anyone who wants to try. Well, now we have a new musical version of a?oeMrs. Doubtfirea?? heading to Broadway and currently playing at the 5th Avenue Theatre. And while I recognize the impetus of putting Euphegenia Doubtfire up on stage, I also had serious anxiety over it. Would it just be a rehash of the same jokes? Would the music be any good? And would anyone be able to match the brilliance of Williams in the role? Well, after last night I can answer those questions with yes, but well handled, yes, to an extent, and YES, give that man a Tony. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's break it down into the three components of the show; the music, the heart, and the comedy.

GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS announced it will record the new musical comedy Broadway Bounty Hunter for an original cast album to be released later this season. Featuring music and lyrics by Tony Award Nominee Joe Iconis (a?oeSmash,a?? Be More Chill, The Black Suits), who also co-wrote the book with Lance Rubin (Denton Little's Deathdate), and Jason SweetTooth Williams (Be More Chill), the show is directed and choreographed by Jennifer Werner (The Book of Mormon Supervising Associate Director) and stars Screen Actors Guild Award winner Annie Golden (Hair, Assassins, a?oeOrange is the New Blacka??) in the title role. The album will be produced by Joe Iconis and Charlie Rosen, and co-produced by Geoffrey Ko and Ian Kagey, with Jennifer Ashley Tepper serving as executive producer.
Following multiple media reports of GLAAD working with the producers of the new Mrs. Doubtfire musical in Seattle, the organization has clarified their involvement with the production - as well as the current Broadway musical Tootsie - which is set to wrap up it's run in January.

Following a week of sold out previews, The 5th Avenue Theatre has announce that the world premiere production of Mrs. Doubtfire has been extended through January 4, 2020 by overwhelming demand. Mrs. Doubtfire, which officially opens Friday, December 13, 2019, will play an additional week past the original December 29, 2019 closing date. BroadwayCon announced today BEETLEJUICE has joined the MainStage lineup at BroadwayCon 2020. As part of MainStage programming, the BEETLEJUICE Spotlight session will feature members of the cast on Saturday, January 25, 2020. Additional MainStage programming will be announced at a later date. Cabaret couple Paul and Rochelle Chamlin present The Marvelous Mr. Mercer at The Laurie Beechman Theatre on Saturday, November 23rd at 2:00 pm, featuring songs by the prolific lyricist, composer, and singer Johnny Mercer. The show is directed by MAC award-winner Teresa Fischer with Tom Hubbard on bass and Daniel Glass on percussion.
