Join Members Of The Broadway Community For LION HEARTED: A Benefit Concert For Maggie Hollinbeck

Join members of the Broadway community for an inspiring evening of heart-centered music and musings honoring the fearless Maggie Hollinbeck (ONCE TOUR). Ticket proceeds will go directly to Ms. Hollinbeck, a two-time breast cancer survivor, to offset her recent medical costs and assist on her valiant road to recovery. The event will be on Monday, May 13 at The Triad at 7PM (doors open at 6:30PM). The Triad is located at 158 W. 72nd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus on the Upper West Side. The Triad Theater, Off-Broadway Theatre, presents Queen Diva in "Strength of a Woman: A Phyllis Hyman Tribute 70th Birthday Celebration" on Saturday, July 6, 2019. The 120 minute tribute celebration begins with Phyllis Hyman's Disco Hit produced by New York's Own James Mtume 'You Know How To Love Me,' to Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Ladies Medley-Sophisticated Ladies, A Train, It Don't Mean A Thing, In A Sentimental Mood" to her pivotal vocal performance in Brooklyn's own Spike Lee's "School Daze" singing "Be One"  to her recording career beginning with Veteran Producer Norman Connors singing "Betcha By Golly Wow" to  her favorite songs "What You Won't Do For Love," to "Old Friend" a song she would dedicate to her numerous dear friends who died of AIDS in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

 On December 3-4, former US Vice President Al Gore will host The Climate Reality Project's eighth-annual 24 Hours of Reality broadcast - 24 Hours of Reality: Protect Our Planet, Protect Ourselves - a 24-hour live event exploring how the climate crisis is threatening human health worldwide. This autobiographical solo show is sure to leave you entertained, reminiscing about your favorite rock star moments and bad teenage decisions, and enjoying one helluva ride!  Directed by Padraic Lillis, Lucky Chick heads into previews at the Paradise Factory main stage on Thursday, April 19, and Friday, April 20, opens on Saturday, April 21, and runs through Saturday, May 12.

RED ROSES, GREEN GOLD To Perform At SXSW and Will Conclude NYC Run Feb 18

RED ROSES, GREEN GOLD, the latest musical from MWM Live (Million Dollar Quartet) featuring the music & lyrics of Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter, will perform during this year's SXSW Festival on Friday, March 16th - as part of the Relix and Brooklyn Bowl event at The Brooklyn Bowl Family Reunion located at The Scoot Inn - in tribute to the Jerry Garcia Band album Cats Under the Stars. RED ROSES, GREEN GOLD will now conclude its limited engagement at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane) on Sunday, February 18, 2018 (previously announced for March 18). At the time of closing RED ROSES, GREEN GOLD will have played 21 previews and 129 regular performances.

John Kadlecik Band Headlines at Fox Theatre

John Kadlecik is a singer, songwriter, and musician who can play most string instruments but is primarily known for being a guitar-slinging sideman to Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh and Bob Weir in the band Furthur. Also an original co-founder of the group Dark Star Orchestra, John has been performing improvisationally-oriented shows regularly since the late 1980's and touring nationally for the last 20 years. His work also includes several studio releases of original music, and he is currently touring with his own group, The John Kadlecik Band.

Aspen Film is proud to present Amazon Studios' LONG STRANGE TRIP for a one-time, special screening on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Metropolitan Theatre's Isis Theatre in Aspen, CO. November programming has been announced at City Winery Chicago. Highlights of the month include multi-night runs from Jazz vocalist (and Chicago transplant) Lizz Wright (Nov. 1-2), Herb Alpert of Tijuana Brass with his wife, Grammy-winning singer Lani Hall, (Nov. 6-7), and four shows over two days with saxophonist Kurt Elling (Nov. 25-26) plus a benefit for Merit School of Music with Nico Segal (previously known as Donnie Trumpet from the Chance the Rapper-affiliated band, The Social Experiment) and The JuJu Exchange (Nov. 28) and much more.
