The world premiere of Fairycakes just celebrated opening night at the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street). Fairycakes is set to play a limited engagement through January 2, 2022.

After premiering at the 2019 Scranton Fringe in Pennsylvania, NEXT ROUND will return to the UK to open the Onstage: Online Festival, in association with Durham's Gala Theatre and The Assembly Rooms.

Mill Mountain Theatre has begun rehearsals for their upcoming holiday show, The Sound of Music,a?? running December 4th - 22nd on the Trinkle MainStage. The cast is led by Roanoke's own Emma Gwin (Maria), Broadway's Timothy Booth* (Captain Georg von Trapp), and Mary Grace Gordon* (Mother Abbess). The play, set in a small town in the North East of England, follows the story of a young millennial trying to find her place in the world without her Father. Steph's Dad has just died, and it's up to her best friends Ant and Harry to pull her through the worst year of her life. In a year of transition, three friends discover who they are, how to grieve and that growing up is realizing that no one knows how to be a grown up, all through the medium of a good old fashioned Pub Quiz.

Hetaira: A Mythic Cabaret sets dates for its New York City preview at 59E59 as part of its East to Edinburgh series before heading to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in July. The show will run July 13, 18, and 27 at 8:30 PM.

Following its international premier at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Off-Broadway run in New York City, Your Alice returns to the UK this fall. Produced by Pinkhouse Productions LLC, Your Alice follows Charles Dodgson (pen name Lewis Carroll) as he tells his child muse, Alice, her favorite story for the last time. As they sail down the Oxford River, his beloved characters weave the audience in and out of Wonderland and through his tortured relationship with 10-year-old Miss Liddell.

Monday, April 9th marked the first edition of the SWAP (Songs With Another Perspective) Cabaret, produced and directed by Alex Beck. Twenty-two artists sang gender-swapped songs from 100 years of the musical theatre cannon.

SWAP (Songs With Another Perspective), the newest gender-swapping cabaret, holds up a quirky magnifying glass to some of the more stereotypical, problematic, and oddly curious gender moments in the American musical theatre cannon.

Ophelia Theatre Group, a leading player in Astoria's theatre scene, is presenting its spring musical Lysistrata Jones. Spearheaded by a female-driven production team, Lysistrata tells the tale of a determined cheerleader who leads the students around her in a battle of the sexes. With a rocking score written by Lewis Flinn and book by five-time Tony nominee Douglas Carter Beane, the show will be an immersive experience performed on a faux basketball court at the back of the Variety Boys and Girls Club in Queens. In the first production in New York since its Broadway run, Ophelia Theatre is thrilled to be giving a new feminist life to this baller cult classic! This March, Ophelia Theatre Group is bringing back Lewis Flinn and Douglas Carter Beane's Broadway musical Lysistrata Jones! This will be its first New York production since Broadway. To celebrate, we're bringing you a night of Lewis Flinn's songs, performed by New York's brightest talent, with a special performance by Lewis Flinn.

Dallas Theater Center presents the world premiere of Hood: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure, a new musical comedy written and directed by five-time Tony-nominated playwright Douglas Carter Beane with music and lyrics by Lewis Flinn. The production runs through Sunday, August 6, at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre.
