The York Theatre Company launches their 50th Anniversary Season with its acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series celebrating the legendary Broadway composer Cole Porter. The series honors the illustrious songwriter behind such classics as Anything Goes, Kiss Me, Kate, Gay Divorce, Silk Stockings, Red, Hot and Blue, and Can-Can, to name a few.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, presents the Off-Broadway premiere of the acclaimed new musical Midnight at The Never Get, with book, music, and lyrics by Mark Sonnenblick, co-conceived by Sam Bolen, by arrangement with Visceral Entertainment and Mark Cortale Productions. Directed by Max Friedman, with choreography by Andrew Palermo, and music direction/arrangements by Adam Podd, the cast features Sam Bolen, Jeremy Cohen, and Jon J. Peterson. This year, the 1st Irish Festival, produced by Origin Theatre Company, broadens its scope by presenting more events that explore the impact and interplay of other media on and in the theatre.

Deirdre Kinahan's 'Bogboy' won three major awards, including best production, at the closing ceremonies of the fourth annual 1st Irish Festival, on Monday October 3, at Papillon Bistro & Bar, 22 East 54th Street. The haunting drama about a heroin addict's unlikely friendship with a reclusive farmer also scored for Sorcha Fox who won best actress and Jo Mangan who was named best director. But it was 'A Night with George,' a comedy from Belfast, that proved to be the audience darling, snapping up the award for Best Play in online voting. The award for Best Play was presented by the actor Gabriel Byrne, Ireland's cultural ambassador.

David McCoy, Chairman of the Board) will honor Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway songwriters Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick with the 18th Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre on Monday, November 23rd.
