Amazon Studios started principal photography on visionary director Mike Cahill's (I Origins, Another Earth) Bliss this week in Los Angeles and Croatia. Academy Award nominees Salma Hayek and Owen Wilson are set to star in this sci-fi drama also written by Cahill. Endgame Entertainment's James D. Stern is producing, with the company's Lucas Smith serving as executive producer. Marsha Swinton (Hala) will also executive produce.

NBC's “Red Nose Day Special” will feature the biggest names across entertainment with a packed lineup of music, comedy and short documentary films that educate and engage viewers on the cause for the fifth annual event.

The Signature Theatre production of Octet, a world premiere chamber choir musical by three-time Tony Award nominee Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812)and directed by Annie Tippe (Ghost Quartet), opened just last night, May 19, in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Octet will now play through June 23, 2019.

A star-studded cast of Hollywood favorites is coming together to have fun, raise money and change lives for children in need in NBC's “Red Nose Day Special,” airing Thursday, May 23 (8-10p.m. ET). CBS All Access announced today that Alison Pill ('The Newsroom'), Harry Treadaway ('Penny Dreadful') and Isa Briones ('American Crime Story: Versace') were cast as series regulars alongside Sir Patrick Stewart in its upcoming untitled 'Star Trek' series that will explore the next chapter of Jean-Luc Picard. They join previously announced cast members Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd and Evan Evagora.

The Garden of Dreams Foundation announced today that the 2019 Garden of Laughs event, presented by Delta Air Lines, once again raised more than $2 million for the Foundation to aid its efforts to make dreams come true for tri-state area children in need. Since its inception in 2013, the biennial Garden of Laughs comedy benefit has raised $7 million in total for the charity.
