Pan Asian Repertory Theatre will present a special virtual event: NuWorks 2021, the annual experimental series of self-created work from innovative artists exploring an eclectic range of genres and techniques using poetry, text, dance and music.

Today, Tectonic Theater Project and Madison Wells Live announced casting for Seven Deadly Sins, the sexy and adventurous outdoor theatrical experience, coming to New York City’s Meatpacking District.

Queens Theatre will host a second series of AAPI Healing Circle virtual spaces, starting in June and through this summer. The AAPI Healing Circle sessions, open to all individuals who identify as part of the AAPI community, will be held every other Monday at 7pm ET from June 14 to August 23.

Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre will host RANDOM ACTS, a solo play written and performed by Obie Award winner Renata Hinrichs. Directed by Jessi D. Hill, performances begin May 23 at the cell. Performances will be presented open air for a strictly limited audience.

Abingdon Theatre Company has announced three new Artists in Residence for their upcoming 29th Season beginning in the fall. Christine Toy Johnson, Ilda Mason and Matthew McLachlan are set to be the next participants in the Carolyn Halpert Artist in Residence Program which began in 2017.

Abingdon Theatre Company will present a short film of 'Empress Mei Li Lotus Blossom' written and directed by Christine Toy Johnson followed by a talk back with the writer and cast, moderated by Reggie Lee on May 25th at 7pm ET. This event is free. This piece is being screened in May to Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced that Amanda Green has been elected to be their incoming Council President succeeding outgoing President Doug Wright. She will be the first woman president in the Guild’s 100-year history.

Red Bull Theater today announced that submissions will begin for their 11th annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes. Six brand new plays, inspired by this year’s theme: “Restoration,” will be selected through an open submission process to premiere alongside commissions from C. A. Johnson and José Rivera.
