Spring brings renewed energy into the year. There isn’t a better moment for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s recently appointed Co-Artistic Directors Daniel Evans and Tamara Harvey to launch their vision for the organisation. Led by a big name that will attract new audiences who are probably younger than your typical RSC crowd, we hope Love’s Labour’s Lost is setting the tone for what’s coming. If this opening is anything to go by, this upcoming era seems to be adopting Shakespeare for a contemporary audience while maintaining the reverence for the language and the pomp of tradition.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has released all new photos from its production of Love’s Labour’s Lost, which makes its premiere in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre this week.

Full casting has been announced for director Emily Burns' playful and contemporary take on Shakespeare's comedy, Love's Labour's Lost, which runs in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon between 11 April – 18 May.

Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends: A Celebration (Live at the Sondheim Theatre) will be available as a 2-disc CD set and digital and streaming formats on Friday, December 8.

54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents Brandon James Gwinn in Four Pianos on Thursday November 3rd at 9:30pm. Richard Rodgers Award winner and celebrated nightlife pianist Brandon James Gwinn (he/they), flanked by an expanded version of their T-shirt Tuxedo Trio, brings an evening of music to Broadway’s Supper Club tributing four of his favorite singing pianists: Blossom Dearie, Frances Faye, Diana Krall, and the fabulous Bobby Short. 

The York Theatre Company, in association with Riki Kane Larimer, presents an encore limited return engagement of the hit Off-Broadway musical Cheek to Cheek: Irving Berlin in Hollywood, a song and dance celebration featuring the music and lyrics of the legendary Irving Berlin which premiered last Fall. All new photos have been released from the West End production of Mary Poppins, as Louis Gaunt takes over the role of Bert. Gaunt replaces Charlie Stemp whilst he performs as Bobby in the Chichester Festival Theatre production of Crazy for You this summer.

CLASSIC WHITNEY: ALIVE! - The hit solo show from Broadway’s Kevin Smith Kirkwood, will make its triumphant post-pandemic return to Joe’s Pub on Thursday, June 23rd at 9:30PM. This special PRIDE EDITION will celebrate New York City Pride week as only Whitney can.

Cameron Mackintosh has invited Stephen Sondheim’s old friends to join him in celebrating his extraordinary talents and legacy at the Sondheim Theatre which was recently gloriously rebuilt in Sondheim’s honour and thanks the cast and company and everyone involved for agreeing to a special screening which will allow over 2,500 to see the performance.

On Friday, April 1, I had the pleasure of seeing the ACT of CT’s unique adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR.  This 1971 musical that is primarily told through music with lyrics by Tim Rice has been redesigned and reinterpreted by the director, Daniel C. Levine who has incorporated elements of The Handmaid’s Tale into this adaptation.

An extension to booking has been announced for the Olivier award-winning production of Mary Poppins with tickets now on sale until 10 July 2022 at the Prince Edward Theatre.
