The producers of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL today announced casting for the second production of the show when it embarks on an 11 city tour of the UK and Ireland from 6 September 2019. Full casting for each venue will be announced soon.

Caroline Sheen will return to the role of 'Violet Newstead' in 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL at the Savoy Theatre, London from 4 July 2019.

The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. After a sold-out, year-long critically acclaimed international tour, David Byrne's American Utopia will play a strictly limited engagement on Broadway at the intimate Hudson Theatre from October 4, 2019 through January 19, 2020, with the official opening set for October 20, 2019.

According to the New York Times, Sea Wall / A LIFE, written by Simon Stephens and Nick Payne respectively and directed by Carrie Cracknell, will transfer to Broadway next season. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge, it will begin performances on July 26 and will open on August 8. The limited engagement will conclude on September 29.

Two dozen nominations of outstanding actors, directors, designers and ensembles were announced today by The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA), with winners to be revealed at the 37th Annual Elliot Norton Awards on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 7 PM, at the Huntington Avenue Theatre.

The Ambassador Theatre Group is thrilled to announce that THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL, an "electrifying" (Newsday) musical adaption of the New York Times best-selling novel written by Rick Riordan, will play at the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14.

Parity Productions, the New York based theatre company dedicated to producing new work and filling at least 50% of the creative positions (playwrights, directors, and designers) with women and/or trans and gender nonconforming (TCNG) artists, opened Charlie's Waiting by Inaugural Parity Commission Winner Melisa Annis on March 31 at Theaterlab (357 W 36th St, New York, NY 10018) hosted by TLab Shares. Charlie's Waiting is playing an extended run of 21 performances now through April 20. The cast is led by Tony nominee Xanthe Elbrick (Broadway: Coram Boy, Candida), and features Stephanie Heitman (A Snowfall in Berlin), and Amy Scanlon (Balladeers Play to the Moon) and is directed by Parity Productions Artistic Director, Ludovica Villar Hauser. 

The New Groupwill soon present Jesse Eisenberg's Happy Talk, with Tedra Millan, Daniel Oreskes and Nico Santos joining, as previously announced, Marin Ireland and Susan Sarandon, in this world premiere directed by Scott Elliott. The New Group also announces two additional weeks for Happy Talk, with the limited engagement, previously slated through June 2, now extended through June 16. Previews begin April 30 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Thursday, May 16 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

Broadway In Boston announced today that individual tickets for the Boston premiere of DEAR EVAN HANSEN will go on sale Sunday, March 24, 2019. Dear Evan Hansen will play the Citizens Bank Opera House July 10 - August 4 as part of the 2018-2019 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season.
