Lauren Gunderson has been called 'America's favorite playwright' by Slate, and with good reason: with the exception of Shakespeare, Ms. Gunderson is the country's most produced playwright. Her new work, NATURAL SHOCKS, received critical acclaim in The New York Times, who said that the play 'raises important points about the need to take action in times of crises.'

For Simpatico Theatre in Philadelphia, their 15th season No Place/Like Home looks at how and where we live, especially in the face of gun violence. The season asks the question: what happens when we find ourselves a stranger in our own home or neighborhood? All productions will take place at The Louis Bluver Theatre at The Drake, Philadelphia.

Red Lodge, Montana is a new work co-created by director Michael Osinski and the ensemble cast. Set in the former girls' locker room in the basement of Bok, the show follows a troupe of actors as they attempt to produce their own send-up of Lynch's landmark television series Twin Peaks. What they end up creating is a live-action nightmare. Audience members will follow the characters through the performance space as if they are walking through one of David Lynch's films.

Submissions are being accepted for The Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program at 1812 Productions. Now in its 14th year, The Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program supports female solo artists with week-long residencies and small grant awards. The Program was founded in 2005 in honor of beloved Philadelphia theatre performer Jilline Ringle. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 17th.

In this dark comedy, Reza de Wet weaves together a collection of Chekhov's iconic characters into a single musing on the end of a world. On February 1, EgoPo Classic Theater presents this great South African playwright's take on Anton Chekhov's classic, twenty years later, during the fall the privileged society. Three Sisters Two previews January 30-31 and opens Friday, February 1. The show runs three weeks, closing Feb. 17.

1812 Productions has extended the deadline for submissions to The Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program to Friday, May 18th, 2018. Now in its 12th year, The Jilline Ringle Solo Performance Program is dedicated to supporting the creation, development and production of work by female solo artists across a variety of disciplines-theater, performance art and cabaret.

There's something for everyone at a Fringe Festival and this Fringe's 'edge' is a healthy dose of somber reality.

In a celebration of independent theater, a collective of Philadelphia's most imaginative theater-makers bring audiences a double feature of The Jaws Project and The It Girl at Plays and the Players Theater. Premiering in Philadelphia's 2016 season, both pieces explored the stories behind cinematic juggernauts, Jaws and Clara Bow. Back by popular demand, these darkly comic pieces will open on July 4th at 3pm, followed by performances on July 5th, 6th, and 7th at 8pm.

On Sunday, June 4 at 6 p.m., EgoPo will be hosting its Annual Gala on the Water to kick off the 2017-18 John Guare Festival Season, featuring the world premiere of Guare's Lydie Breeze Trilogy. Guests will enjoy a Nantucket-themed summer evening at Morgan's Pier on the Delaware River where there will be seafood, songs, sangria, and special guests.
