ASCAP Award-winning writer/producer Chip Deffaa's new CD, 'Irving Berlin: Sweet and Hot'--being released January 4th--features such  Broadway and cabaret  notables as Steve Ross ('Private Lives'),   Jerry Dixon ('Once On this Island'),  Seth Sikes ('The Band's Visit'), Analise Scarpaci ('Mrs. Doubtfire'),  Alex Dreier ('Finding Neverland'), Charlie Franklin ('The Book of Mormon'),  Giuseppe Bausilio ('Hamilton'), Matthew Nardozzi ('Dracula'), Jon Peterson ('Cabaret'), and others.

Although Covid-19 has impacted the arts in myriad negative ways, no one can deny the unexpected innovative opportunities for learning it has also created. Through Zoom, dancers can now train with teachers they only ever dreamed of working with previously! 

The young dancers from the Brazilia company Ballet Paraisopolis met with young Broadway actors and participate in a tap and Broadway dance workshop with Thommie Retter, (Billy Elliot).

The album is an outgrowth of shows celebrating Berlin that Deffaa has been presenting at his base in New York, the 13th Street Theater. It features Broadway performers singing rare--and in some cases, never-before-recorded--songs by master songwriter Berlin. Just last month, industry-only staged reading of the 1962 musical I Can Get It For You Wholesale, based on the best-selling Jerome Weidman novel on Tuesday, June 6th. The musical has a score by Harold Rome (Fanny, Wish You Were Here, Destry Rides Again), book by Jerome Weidman (Fiorello!), revised book by John Weidman (Assassins, Pacific Overtures, Contact), music direction by David Chase (Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Nice Work If You Can Get It), and direction by Trip Cullman (Six Degrees of Separation, Significant Other).

Broadway is coming to the South Orange Performing Arts center this May! On Monday night, May 1,2017, 25 Broadway artists will light up the SOPAC stage, as they perform with aspiring Broadway artists in Vanguard Theater Company's second annual BROADWAY BUDDY Mentorship Cabaret.

Broadway'sFinding Neverland, the magical story of how Peter became Pan, has forever departed the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 46th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue), sailing off for a First National U.S. Tour and forthcoming 2017 West End production. Finding Neverland opened on Broadway on April 15, 2015 and played 33 previews and 565 performances.

As previously announced, Broadway's Finding Neverland, the magical story of how Peter became Pan, will soon be leaving the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 46th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue), sailing off August 21, 2016 for a First National U.S. Tour and forthcoming 2017 West End production.

The best of Broadway will be performing FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 LITE FM's Broadway in Bryant Park 2016' - a lunchtime series that continued this week, July 14 on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by LITE FM's on-air personalities, the 16th annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through Thursday, August 11.
