As BroadwayWorld has sadly reported, legendary playwright Neil Simon has died at 91. He passed away last night at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City due to complications from pneumonia. Broadway veteran Lisa Brescia will join the company of the Tony Award-winning musical as 'Heidi Hansen,' marking her return to Broadway after more than a decade. Brescia begins performances today, August 7, 2018 succeeding Rachel Bay Jones, who plays her final performance on August 5, 2018.

You oughta know that Broadway Sings Alanis has just added more stars to its lineup! Diana Degarmo (Hair), Alysha Deslorieux (Hamilton), Derek Klena (Anastasia), and Wesley Taylor (SpongeBob SquarePants) will join the lineup for the next installment of the acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series, Broadway Sings Alanis Morissette. Cast members from Broadway shows including Pretty Woman, Dear Evan Hansen, Once on this Island, and Waitress will sing completely new arrangements of the hits of the pop superstar, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations of her music.

Tributes to Mr. Washington and performances were presented by three-time Grammy Award-winner Branford Marsalis with bassist Noah Jackson, Tony®Award-winners George C.
