The project has been a top hit in its native Austria since it opened in 2006, garnering a steady following across the world and subsequent runs in Asia and Europe. The original is fabled to feature incredible sets and a sumptuous staging - it’s a shame those elements haven’t transferred.

Richard Carson, Lauren Jones and Kara Lane will lead the cast for the eagerly anticipated English language premiere of the critically acclaimed musical ‘Rebecca’. Performances run 4 September to 18 November at Charing Cross Theatre.
Following 12 hugely successful foreign language productions, critically acclaimed musical Rebecca by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay is to get its English language premiere in a new production at London’s Charing Cross Theatre in an English translation by Christopher Hampton.
Steven M. Levy for Charing Cross Theatre Productions Limited present 'The Human Voice' composed by Francis Poulanc with libretto by Jean Cocteau, in an English language translation by Joseph Machlis, directed by Alejandro Bonatto, who recently directed Donzetti's 'Rita' at Charing Cross Theatre.
The show will be presented in a new English language translation and new orchestration for chamber ensemble by Alejandro Bonatto, who will also be directing the production. It is a strictly limited engagement just 10 performances from 7 - 20 August, 2022. Check out photos here!
'Rita', or 'Deux Hommes et Une Femme', a funny domestic comedy, has delighted audiences since its premiere. Never performed in Donizetti's lifetime, it premiered posthumously at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on 7 May 1860, 12 years after his death.
