Santa Barbara Symphony Welcomes Todd Aldrich To Board Of Directors

The Santa Barbara Symphony welcomes Todd Aldrich to its Board of Directors. This appointment reflects the shared commitment of the entire organization to expand its community impact and deliver on the Symphony's mission to bring joy, engagement, and connection through symphonic music. Aldrich and his wife Allyson are Symphony season ticket holders and members of Crescendo, the Symphony's strategic donor initiative made up of visionary donors who have pledged 5 years of support. Aldrich is also a member of the Board's Governance Committee. 

A TURTLE ON A FENCE POST Will Close This Sunday

A Turtle on a Fence Post, a new musical comedy, will close on Sunday, November 21 at Theater 555 (555 W. 42nd Street). At the time of closing, the show will have played 18 previews and 9 performances. A Turtle on a Fence Post has a book by Prisoner #11RO731*, music by Austin Nuckols, and lyrics by Lily Dwoskin.

BWW Review: MY FAIR LADY at Orpheum Theatre

There's a brief appearance by a group of protest sign carrying suffragettes during a street scene in this Lincoln Center 2018 revival of Lerner and Loewe's classic musical My Fair Lady, and it may be the only bridge between this distinctly old-fashioned early 20th century Edwardian perspective and today's post-feminist world. This revival, nominated for 10 Tony Awards and directed by award winning director Bartlett Sher is a beautiful looking opportunity to experience one of musical theatre's greatest chestnuts.

A TURTLE ON A FENCE POST Announces Complete Cast & Creative Team

Max Brod Productions announced today the complete cast and creative team for the new off-Broadway musical comedy A Turtle on a Fence Post, set to re-open the newly renamed Theater 555 (555 W. 42nd Street) with performances beginning Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

BWW Review: THE SUBURBS at Thrown Stone

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, I saw THE SUBURBS, a three segment show, each segment written by a different writer, including Catherine Yu, Tony Meneses, and Phanésia Pharel, respectively. All three stories are directed by Kholoud Sawaf.  With THE SUBURBS, Thrown Stone has presented a world premiere, which furthermore is a roving production set in three different venues, which in sequence include Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and West Lane Inn. 

PATHWAY TO THE BALLOT BOX Immersive Voting Rights Experience Comes to New Paltz

The passionate characters in Pathway to the Ballot Box are inspired by the challenges, triumphs, fears, and accomplishments of eight women who lived in New Paltz, NY over three centuries, leading to the first vote cast by a woman in New Paltz. The experience will run weekends August 21st through September 5th, 2021. 

MoMA And MoMA PS1 Announce Summer Programming Details

As The Museum of Modern Art will welcome visitors to experience its world-class collection galleries and exhibitions this summer, it will continue to offer extended hours on Saturdays until 7:00 p.m.
