The romantic anthology drama “Cherish the Day,” starring Joy Bryant and Henry Simmons, will air following “Queen Sugar,” now in its final season, making for a Tuesday night of two great television dramas. The first season of “Cherish the Day” ranked #1 in its time period across all of cable with Black women, households, and total viewers.

The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (IATSE Local 706) announced winners of its 9th Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Awards, presented by HASK Beauty, in 23 categories of film, television, commercials and live theater. The gala was held on Saturday night, February 19, 2022, before a live audience at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. It was also livestreamed to an audience of millions worldwide.

With a total of 3 million viewers on Sunday alone, this was the biggest SHOWTIME finale in more than eight years, surpassing the season-three finale of Homeland in 2013. The finale – written by series showrunner Clyde Phillips – also set a new SHOWTIME record with 2 million viewers from streaming and on demand platforms on Sunday.

Oprah Winfrey Network hosted a launch celebration last night for its upcoming relationship drama, “Cherish the Day”, created and executive produced by Emmy winner/Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernay (“Queen Sugar,” “When They See Us”). The evening affair welcomed DuVernay, series stars Xosha Roquemore (“The Mindy Project”) and Alano Miller (“Underground”,) and additional cast including Michael Beach, Anne-Marie Johnson and Kellee Stewart.
