dick clark productions and ABC today announced performances from chart-topping artists Lauren Alaina, Bazzi, Kane Brown, Camila Cabello, Ciara, Halsey, Shawn Mendes, Weezer and a collaboration from Kane Brown featuring Lauren Alaina have been added to the lineup for the West Coast celebration of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019." These artists join previously announced West Coast host, multi-platinum music superstar Ciara, and performers Kelsea Ballerini, The Chainsmokers, Foster the People, Dua Lipa, Ella Mai and Charlie Puth, as well as a performance by Macklemore with Skylar Grey presented by Planet Fitness and a special collaboration from The Chainsmokers featuring Kelsea Ballerini. Airing just after midnight, Post Malone will perform from a stop on his current tour in Brooklyn, NY, marking the first television performance of the New Year. America's biggest celebration of the year will take place on MONDAY, DECEMBER 31 beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST on the ABC Television Network.

Country superstar Alan Jackson's South Carolina concert at the North Charleston Coliseum- originally planned for Friday, September 14 - has been rescheduled. The Country Music Hall of Famer will return on Friday, August 23, 2019. Tickets for the original show will be honored at the rescheduled date.

Schimmel Center presents all-female alt-country group Farewell Angelina-named one of Rolling Stone's Fall 2016 '10 New Country Artists You Need To Know'- today, October 5, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The concert features a special performance-Farewell Angelina's debut of 'I Feel You,' written by Kevin Bacon, and performed together with Michael Bacon, Paul Guzzone, and Frank Vilardi of The Bacon Brothers. 'I Feel You' is the bonus track of Farewell Angelina's new EP, set to be released in 2019, and the concert also offers a sneak peek of other songs set to be on the album. The evening is hosted by Paul Guzzone.

Flat Rock Playhouse presents a Music on the Rock concert celebrating two giants of classic country and rock and roll music. These two American singer-songwriters, known for flawlessly blending traditional honky tonk tunes and rock and roll riffs, will have audiences singing along to classic hits such as "Chatahoochie," "Thunder Rolls," "Don't Rock the Jukebox," and "Friends in Low Places." Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts has announced the first performances of Summer 2018 at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17; Wolf Trap members (donors of $75 and up) have access to presales and are beginning to purchase tickets now.

Overture Presents and free/low-cost programs continue in February with a variety of artistic experiences, from movement/dance, to music, to silent film.

On January 29, 1993, the Lowcountry entertainment scene changed forever. On this date, the North Charleston Coliseum opened its doors for the first time. The show was World Figure Skating Champions featuring Olympic champions Elizabeth Manley and Marina Klimova & Sergio Ponomarenko.  The next night, country music superstars Alan Jackson and Lorrie Morgan took the stage for the first concert in the Coliseum. Both shows had capacity crowds and the Lowcountry finally had a world class entertainment venue. In the years following, the biggest names in music and entertainment would make North Charleston a regular stop on their world tours.

Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, producer and actress Lari White Cannon who made her Broadway debut in the Johnny Cash musical review Ring of Fire died early this morning in Nashville after a battle with peritoneal cancer. She was 52 years old.

Superstar songwriters Rafe Van Hoy, Marla Cannon-Goodman, Dale Dodson, Waylon Payne, Don Sampson and Ronnie Bowman will pay tribute to Hank Cochran and Red Lane at 3rd & Lindsley (816 3rd Ave. South) on Wednesday, January 17 to benefit The Hank Cochran Pen Fund. Tickets are $10; doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. The 501(c)(3) charity focuses its efforts on financially assisting songwriters with cancer.
