Uptown Players presents the regional premiere of Chicken and Biscuits, a side-splitting family comedy written by the brilliant Douglas Lyons. Set to captivate audiences with its irresistible charm, uproarious humor, and heartwarming moments, this production promises an unforgettable theatrical experience.

Today’s subject Liz Mikel is currently living her theatre life on tour playing Dr. Benjamin Franklin, delegate from Pennsylvania, in the Roundabout Theatre Company production of 1776. The show is currently running through July 16th at Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theatre.

Dallas Theater Center (DTC) celebrates 30 years with one of the city's most talented actors, Liz Mikel. She made her debut on the DTC mainstage in 1991, appearing in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Since then, Mikel has been featured in multiple DTC productions and currently features in Cake Ladies at the Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre as Tweedy-Bird, a character written specifically for her.

Stage West announces plans to produce an additional show during the 2021-22 season, What to Send Up When It Goes Down by Aleshea Harris. The piece will be performed in Stage West's Evelyn Wheeler Swenson Theatre from April 14 to May 8, with a possible two week extension off site through the Fort Worth community.

Theater visionary, artist, founding artistic director of Dallas's Undermain Theatre and Texas Woman of distinction Katherine Owens has died after a five-month prolonged illness. She was 61 and lived in Dallas with her husband and artistic partner Bruce DuBose.
