The story goes that Stages staff member, Eboni Bell Darcy, was part of the discussion for the theater's reopening season. Ideas evidently floated around in the zoom call. It was Eboni's idea for Stages to commission their own jukebox musical. This excellent idea led to the creation of ShaWanna Renee Rivon's YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO SIT IN. One would think that a musical highlighting Houston's generational social justice problems would be what some call a 'downer.' Instead, Rivon's creation has become, at least for me, the crowning achievement of the 21-22 Houston theater season.

Recording remotely over the past year from their respective homes, the band have been working hard to produce some of the most captivating, inventive and forward-thinking music of their career.

The final music video is an unedited, 500 ft. mag of 35mm 4-perf film, quadruple exposed at Step + Direction, Sonoma and developed and scanned at Fotokem, Burbank.  

Today, January 29, Lia Ices has released her new LP Family Album, via her own label Natural Music. Today Ices also shares the groundbreaking, cinematic video for Family Album’s title track. Collaborating with director, Aaron Brown, the clip represents a breakthrough in capturing the relationship between the artist and the human aura.

Academy Award and four-time Emmy Award winner Aaron Sorkin will join Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth to present a master class for the newly created Master's Program in Screen Acting degree from Oklahoma City University (OCU) and London's Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA), it was announced today by OCU School of Theatre Dean Mark Parker and ALRA Principal Adrian Hall.

Featuring characters with names like Rudy the Voice, Eddie Mush, Jojo the Whale and Frankie Coffeecake, this musical adaptation of Palminteri's acclaimed movie, later made into a one-man Broadway play in which Palminteri also starred, pits the young Calogero (Trey Murphy) in a tug of war between his upstanding blue collar Dad, Lorenzo (American Idol winner Nick Fradiani), and the flashy mob boss Sonny (Jeff Brooks) whom the newly dubbed a?oeCa?? idolizes.

Longtime friend and collaborator, Garth Brooks, inducted singer/songwriter/storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, Steve Wariner, into the Musicians Hall of Fame at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tenn Tuesday night after they performed their multi-platinum No. 1 hit 'Long Neck Bottle,' which Wariner co-wrote.

Wellington, originated on Broadway in 1964 by the iconic Sammy Davis, Jr., is enticed by the boxing world's promise of fame and fortune, but he makes one critical mistake: falling for his manager's white girlfriend, Lorna.
