Kate Fleetwood

Kate Fleetwood is an English actress known for her work on stage, film, and television. Born on September 24, 1972, in Cirencester, England, Fleetwood developed an interest in acting at a young age and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

Fleetwood made her Broadway debut in 2008 in the revival of the classic play "Macbeth," alongside Patrick Stewart. Her performance as Lady Macbeth earned her critical acclaim and a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play. The production was directed by Rupert Goold and transferred from the Chichester Festival Theatre to the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End before opening on Broadway.
Prior to her Broadway debut, Fleetwood had already established herself as a talented stage actress in the UK. She made her professional stage debut in 1995 in the play "The Herbal Bed" at the Royal Shakespeare Company. She went on to perform in several other productions with the RSC, including "The Winter's Tale," "The Tempest," and "The Comedy of Errors."
In 2004, Fleetwood starred in the National Theatre's production of "Medea," directed by Deborah Warner. Her performance as the vengeful mother who kills her own children earned her an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress. She also received critical acclaim for her performance in the 2005 production of "Hedda Gabler" at the same theatre.
Fleetwood has also appeared in several other West End productions, including "High Society," "The Three Musketeers," and "London Road." In 2016, she starred in the West End production of "American Psycho: The Musical," based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis. Her performance as Evelyn Williams earned her an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical.
In addition to her work on stage, Fleetwood has also appeared in several films and television shows. She played Anne Boleyn in the 2008 film "The Other Boleyn Girl" alongside Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman. She also appeared in the films "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1" and "Part 2," playing the role of Mary Cattermole.
On television, Fleetwood has appeared in several popular shows, including "Waking the Dead," "Harlots," and "Victoria." She also played the role of Volumnia in the 2018 BBC adaptation of "Coriolanus."
Most recently, Fleetwood appeared in the National Theatre's production of "The Visit," which was streamed online during the COVID-19 pandemic. She played the role of Claire Zachanassian, a wealthy woman who returns to her hometown seeking revenge. Her performance was praised by critics, with The Guardian describing her as "magnificent."
