BIO

Margery Gray (born 21 July 1934), also known as Margery Gray Harnick, is an American voice actress. She played Heidi in the animated film Heidi's Song.



Gray's other animated film credits include Aaron's Magic Village (1995) and Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure (1977). She has been married to Sheldon Harnick since October 1965. They have a daughter, Beth, from Gray's previous marriage, and a son, Matthew, from her marriage to Sheldon.

Broadway credits include Fiorello!, Greenwillow, Tenderloin, Tovarich, and Drat! The Cat!.

Liz Callaway, Sheldon Harnick and More Join York Theatre 50th Anniversary Season Events in March

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, as part of its 50th Anniversary season celebration, will present two added special events during the month of March: York Chat: Musicals in Mufti: 118 and Counting, the second in a series of panel discussions, _An Evening with Sheldon Harnick and Friends_ a special concert featuring Sheldon Harnick, Liz Callaway, and Karen Ziemba. Both special events will take place at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Even though Sheldon Harnick was playing the violin in his High School's Gilbert & Sullivan productions… 'I could still hear the lyrics', he wrote in his alumni magazine of Northwestern University. Harnick continued, 'At that time I was turned on by the patter songs, so I began to familiarize myself with Gilbert and Sullivan. I was more fascinated by the virtuosity than anything else. Little by little, I also realized what a fine poet Gilbert was and how imaginative he was, even in the slower songs. So he became an enormous influence.'
