Caroline Prugh writes for the stage. Recent New York productions include the musical PINWHEEL! (random access theatre; 2015 NYIT Nomination for Outstanding Musical), and the plays: IT'S ONLY KICKBALL STUPID (kef productions; The Advocate’s NYC Lesbian Stage Highlights of 2014), NO PROVENANCE (written with Kate Holland & produced by Justin Cornell/FringeNYC 2014), and CLEAR COLD PLACE (vilde chaya collective & David Carpenter). Recent readings/workshops include: NIGHT AT THE BIG CHIEF MOTEL (Holland New Voices Award, 2016 Great Plains Theatre Conference) and TIL DEATH DO US PART (with composer/lyricist Bobby Cronin) part of 2015-16 Overtures Series at The Gallery Players (directed by Kent Nicholson). As a songwriter, 54 Below/David Carpenter and New Georges presented her work. Regionally, Tricklock Theater Company (Albuquerque, NM) produced a workshop of the collage/dance/music theater piece co-created with director Simón Hanukah DECLINE & FALL; OR A GUIDE TO HOW THE END BEGINS FOR THOSE TOO BIG TO FAIL. She is a member of Kaimera Productions’ Immortals and resides in Brooklyn with her wife, Chef Paige van den Burg. Amherst College (BA), Columbia (MFA). Early in her career, she spent eleven years at Stuart Thompson Productions as part of the general management team for 25 Broadway including the plays: PROOF, TAKE ME OUT, DOUBT, and GOD OF CARNAGE, as well as the musicals CAROLINE, OR CHANGE and SHREK THE MUSICAL.

San Diego State University to Present World Premiere of IN A SUNSHINE STATE


In a Sunshine State, the newest production in SDSU’s New Musical Initiative will have its world premiere at the Main Stage Theatre at San Diego State University.

Jared Mezzocchi to Direct RAIN AND ZOE SAVE THE WORLD Developmental Workshop And Presentation


Rain and Zoe Save the World, written by Crystal Skillman with original music by Bobby Cronin, has attached Jared Mezzocchi as director, who will lead a developmental workshop at the University of Maryland beginning March 16, culminating in an industry presentation on March 26.

San Diego State University New Musical Initiative Selects IN A SUNSHINE STATE For World Premiere


Out of 163 submissions, the San Diego State University New Musical Initiative has chosen In a Sunshine State as this year's selection. Writers T.C. Lind, Derek Gregor, and Phoebe Kreutz will join with director Stephen Brotebeck, music director Robert Meffe and the SDSU MFA Musical Theatre cohort for a two-year development process and world premiere in the spring of 2024.
