Rubicon Theatre continues the company's 16th Not Your Typical Season with sardines and lingerie in NOISES OFF, a comic romp by Michael Frayn about the outrageous exploits of a company of actors which opens Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Rubicon Theatre, 1006 E. Main Street in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's world premiere production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical will transfer to London's Cambridge Theatre, previewing from Tuesday 18 October. Bertie Carvel (Miss Trunchbull), Paul Kaye (Mr Wormwood) Josie Walker (Mrs Wormwood) and Lauren Ward (Miss Honey) will reprise their roles alongside Marc Antolin, Verity Bentham, Peter Howe, Michael Kent, Melanie La Barrie, Matthew Malthouse, Alastair Parker, Nick Searle and Emily Shaw who also appeared in the original production in Stratford.

Martin's intriguing exploration of two great minds meeting remains, however, lowbrow humor that begins to wear thin, especially so during a time traveling Elvis character (Cyrus Alexander) plunking into the bar to further play up the contrasts of creativity. There is enough to laugh about in Picasso at the Lapin Agile to keep audiences pleased, and thanks to Martin, also slightly engaged in the argument...
