Ballet Hispanico, celebrating 45 years of sharing and reflecting the diversity of Latino cultures through dance, announced the grand opening of Ballet Hispanico at the Arnhold Center & the Ford Foundation Lobby on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 167 W. 89th Street. The ceremony highlighted the recent renovation of Ballet Hispanico's longtime home, with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony followed by a tour and reception.

Ballet Hispanico's 2015 Spring Gala Raises More Than $1.1 Million

Ballet Hispanico raised more than $1.1 million in support of the company's artistic and educational work in New York City and around the country at their 2015 Gala on Monday, March 30, 2015. During the evening, Ballet Hispanico honored Ballet Hispanico Board President and President and COO of Palladium Equity Partners David Pérez and Milena Alberti-Pérez, SVP and Head of Global Corporate Finance at Penguin Random House, with the Civic Inspiration Award. Ben Rodriguez-Cubeñas, Chair of Ballet Hispanico's Leadership Council and program director for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, was honored with the Nuestra Inspiración Award. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the creation of new Company works, need-based financial aid and merit scholarships in the Ballet Hispanico School of Dance, and community arts education programs.

METROFOCUS to Examine Three Tri-State Areas Still Affected by Hurricane Sandy, 2/27

It has been four months since Superstorm Sandy struck the New York area. This edition of MetroFocus takes a look at three regions affected by the storm that are still struggling to cope with the devastation. In Hoboken, NJ Today's David Cruz reports on the city's efforts to find new ways to prevent potential flooding from future storms. In Manhattan, two students from Columbia's University's School of Journalism return to the South Street Seaport where they first met the owners of the Paris Cafe after the storm. The restaurant still remains closed and many of the businesses are still boarded up. On Long Island, Jim Paymar, host of the Long Island Business Report, speaks with Randi Dresner, President and CEO of Island Harvest, about the non-profit food bank and its effort to feed hundreds of thousands of people after Sandy. MetroFocusairs Wednesday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. on WLIW21; Thursday, February 28 at 8:30p.m. on THIRTEEN; and Tuesday, March 5 at 10:30 p.m. on NJTV.
